As a user, I would like to give Matters five pieces of advice!

Vaccination is purely personal opinion.

In the article " Every time I publish an article, it's a disaster, redefining my "author" ", I said that I felt tiring to write at the beginning, but after reading a certain book, I was very concerned about writing. With new ideas and perspectives. And now I think I'm starting to think, will Matters really keep me going?

Why think about this? The reason is very simple. I am a creator without my own platform, and I don’t know how to build my own website. I can only live on a certain website. And the most important point is that I'm going to use the tools on the platform to "operate the fireplace" recently.

So I would like to discuss my own experience in using Matters, and I would like to give some opinions, which may help Matters to do revisions and the like.

🔍 Rules are rules, users are passive

Before I start, I would like to state that I don't like to use the attitude of " Why did you suffer so badly? Why didn't you change it this way? ", because I didn't give you anything before joining this platform, and I didn't "before using it." Pay first" , so you have no obligation to do anything for me, and there is no "customer complaint" .

But as a platform, we definitely don’t want all our users to run away, so it is very important to listen to the opinions and ideas of the “majority” , so here I will share my experience in use from the perspective of a user. It is difficult and inconvenient to provide you with my ideas and suggestions. As for whether you want to make changes, or whether there is a way to make changes, it is not within the scope of what I can do.

Even if I don't change it, I'm still grateful for the experience this platform has brought me. Of course, how could I possibly want my proposal to fail?

📑 Five suggestions, ideas for Matters

  • 📌 1. Add the function of scheduling post

I was in Vocus before I first came to Matters, so I was troubled that Matters didn't have a "schedule to post" feature, and sometimes I just wanted to stick to a point in time to post. In addition to their own insistence, those who run special topics and around the fireplace may need to make readers accustomed to reading articles at one time, or especially at a certain time when more people read the article, but the time is not right!

With the function of scheduling publications, the author can also better grasp the situation of his publications. For example, you can arrange in advance what time to post, what day has been arranged, don’t worry, and which day has not been arranged, you need to worry, all these can be arranged by scheduling and posting, which relieves a lot of anxiety.

Therefore, I really hope that Matters can add the function of scheduling publications, which will really make it much more convenient for authors.

  • 📌 Second, add the instruction manual to the homepage banner

Because @陈冰 published " Q&A with LikeCoin's official email on the 24th of last month | Why do you have to unconditionally accept such "rules of the game"? ", in the message, I talked about the fact that I didn't know that "5 HKD" could help the article become popular. So I started to search seriously, is it true that Matters officials didn't mention this at all?

In fact, Matters has a " Practical Guide to Playing Matters ", but it is placed in an inconspicuous place in the lower right corner of the homepage, and "light gray" is used to make it more difficult for everyone to find. I'm not sure if the manual was displayed when I signed up, but I just checked when I logged out and it doesn't seem to show up (maybe I didn't see it). But there's no denying that this manual is too unobtrusive (at least I think), and the point is, it's already 2020.

This makes me wonder, is this really a well-planned platform that doesn’t need to be revised for two years, or has it been stagnant? If not, then it must have been revised two years ago, why hasn't a more complete version been updated? Also, I didn't find the information in the manual that "5 HKD" can be popular. Does it feel like an unspoken rule?

To sum up, my suggestion to Matters is to put the user manual in a more prominent place, and if there are changes, it should be updated more often, and the functions should be written.

  • 📌3 . When will the notification of the public chat around the furnace be opened?

I think this has also been discussed, but I'm just curious, why hasn't it changed until now?

For me, the biggest difference between the perimeter and the square grid is the " communication and discussion between the author and the reader", which is "two-way communication". But the question is, "The public chat feature does not notify anyone at all?" .

The topic of the square grid can set various programs for readers to purchase; the topic of the grid can set more than one topic to classify various articles; the topic of the grid can set where an article should be locked. There are also several features that make it easier for readers to find good topics. And these Matters don't have a perimeter, do they think "spring" in comparison?

If even the unique feature of the perimeter cannot play the greatest role and attraction, then how to attract users to set up a kiln that has lost a lot in other places? (Of course I can't deny that Matters' interaction is much better than that of Grid, which is a big attraction)

To sum up, unless the public chat feature is designed to discuss some secret and shady things, why can't anyone notify anyone? Otherwise, this is the first time I have seen a chat tool that will not notify. All in all, I don't think this feature is useful.

  • 📌Fourth , add notification function, don't miss anything

Matters has a tracking feature to follow your favorite authors, as do many platforms. But I found that the mechanism of Matters (which will be discussed in the next paragraph), even if you follow the author, you may not have the chance to see his article. If you have a lot of time and swipe a lot of articles in "Following" every day, then maybe you can find the article you really want to read. But it's not as fast as finding his homepage directly, and I can't open so many homepages every day to find the articles I want to read, so I hope there is a "notification" function, so that I can't miss what I want see the author.

Of course I don't think this problem can be completely said to be a Matters problem. If you really don't like it, don't track it .

So why keep tracking? Because tracking can increase traffic . According to my own observation, I have seen authors who have followed thousands of authors, and most of them have followed back, and in Matters where social applause is prevalent, back shots are only basic.

So, if there is an additional notification function at this time, it is impossible to miss any articles you want to read. Of course, if there is a way to use the original notification function well, it is not bad.

  • 📌 5. Open category sub-items

Continuing from the above, I think that in addition to turning on notifications, turning on category classification is also a very important thing . First I want to ask a question: " Does anyone actually use tags to find articles? "

In my own experience, for example, I rarely use tags to find articles. I don't think the label's function is really used for the most important things . I don't think it's useful anymore, other than being able to properly use tags to manage articles when hosting community events, and adding tags to allow more people to see them. But may I ask, isn't the label used for classification?

Therefore, the function of labeling is only used in Matters for activities or to increase traffic, so it is impossible to achieve real classification? Therefore, I think a few particularly popular tags should be caught, or a few categories should be officially divided, so that more different works can be seen, not all of them exist on the timeline, so that many good works will pass like this.

why would you say so? Because Matters does not have an algorithm like Youtube, this is a good thing and a bad thing, so whether it will be seen is partly a matter of luck , and after a long time no one sees the article, it really "disappears" .

If there are various categories of creative types, let everyone take what they need, and watch what they like, and it is easier to find their favorite creative categories directly. Disappeared by the timeline.

  • 📌 Plus screening at the same scene, don't have a leaderboard

Finished at five o'clock, but I would like to add that there must be no leaderboards. When I was in the square grid, I often looked at the article rankings and found that almost the same person looked and looked every day. And sometimes even articles from a long time ago are still on the list.

So I was thinking, " Ah, every time it's those people, their popularity is already high enough, and they have to promote it every day? The writing pressure is already enough, and they still have to stare at the rankings? " In short, their popularity is already It is very high, and it is widely known without publicity. Most people will see it. There is no need to publicize it any more. This is squeezing the living space of other creators. Moreover, the author has become more concerned about such issues as whether or not to be on the ranking page, which is really terrifying and tiring.

Yes, the above is super subjective, I just wish others were good. It may be good to say that healthy competition is good, but if it develops into vicious competition and increases the burden on each author, then I do not agree. Besides, on a platform as heavy as Matters, will it make social networking more popular because of the rankings? (very rough guess)

In short, I think there can be a ranking list, so that the author can check his current position, but don't have the author ranking version, it is too cruel.

🤔 What is the future of Matters?

The five questions raised above are based on the comfort and convenience of use. Then I think that to explore where the future of this platform is, we must explore "what is the goal of Matters". Not to mention the ultimate goal, it may be said to be a phased goal. What kind of creative space does Matters want to create?

I don't know much about the answers to the above questions, and I may not be able to describe too much, so what I want to discuss below is NFT.

To be honest, I don't understand The Space and Traveloggers NFT. These products are released, but what is his role? As a "creator", maybe these products are new, cool, and trendy, but will it really keep me on this platform for a long time?

If these products are meant to be commemorated, it may be OK, but as a platform in the name of decentralized writing, the NFT issued is just for commemoration? If it only stays for the sake of commemoration, will it make people feel bad? Because of the release of NFTs, many Youtubers and artists have begun to release their own NFTs, but most of them only stop at selling, and therefore there is a "cutting leek" "One said.

Therefore, the Travelloggers NFT was officially released, but it doesn't seem to have much effect at present, right? ? So does it make people feel that the official is eager to sell their own NFTs, but it is useless at all, is it just to make money, waiting to "cut the leeks"? Even if this is not an issue for Matters, but for those who don't see NFTs as NFTs, the stereotype is just that far-reaching.

Here I would like to add that the value is given by people. If the value of these NFTs is only reflected in money, it is not called NFT, but it is just a general virtual currency. There are even times when ordinary virtual currency has non-monetary value.

So I think Matters can't just stop at commemoration's sake, there can be but not many. The most important thing is to make more applications of NFT and make the most of the feature of "non-fungible currency".

But after so much talk, maybe Matters has a plan, but it's not finished yet . Here comes Matters' fatal problem: " Not enough people. "

I really feel this. Why do you say that? Because when I applied for the perimeter last year, I waited for a long time without any response. And when I applied in January this year, I passed in less than two days (laughs). No one replied at that time, I think it has something to do with Matters dealing with NFTs. But it could also be my own problem, or simply missed.

Therefore, I think Matters seems to be understaffed, but I have also seen that Matters has engineers on the go, which is completely beyond my ability. I can only hope that Matters can improve on the shortage of staff.

📢 Solve old problems first, then it's time to develop new products!

First of all, it needs to be clarified that today I am talking about Matters and not LikeCoin, these two are different companies. However, the relationship between Matters and LikeCoin can be said to be inseparable, just like the relationship between fish and water. Today, these questions are only aimed at Matters. It is conceivable that they will not be so comprehensive, and they are all my personal opinions.

The suggestions from one to five focus on use. Although it may not have such a big impact, it cannot be said that it should not be ignored. The next question is to discuss the future of Matters. For example, I will think: " Is this a very advanced writing platform? Is it suitable for me? What kind of creative space will it create? "

Anyway, despite these questions and suggestions, I am still on this platform, and it is even going to be launched recently. So at this stage I will continue to stay here, thanks to Matters for the experience.

At the end of the article, I still want to state again, this is not a guest complaint, and I have not paid anything to Matters, so I am not that important, these are purely my personal thoughts , unless most people feel about these issues, even I don't think I can change it, otherwise Matters has no obligation to serve me.

In the end, it's not that you can't release all kinds of new products, but if your manpower is insufficient, old problems have not been solved, and new problems are constantly arising, of course, users will be turned around.

I have a deep understanding of this sentence, because I am the person who will hold the next event before the last event is closed (laughs), but I only need to be responsible for the event. Matters is responsible for the entire platform. 60,000 people.

Finally, let's share my Travelloggers NFT! I know she's cute, but she's currently not working, just a vase. I really hope that one day it can have a role other than viewing.

In the article " Every time I publish an article is a disaster, redefine my "author" ", I said that I am going to open a fire, and about the application of NFT, I plan to take the lead and put it Applied in the perimeter. So stay tuned and don't miss out on the offer.
