about lifelong learning

Learning should not be an end in itself

Recently, my understanding of myself seems to have improved, and I have also rewritten the original introduction to myself. I feel that I am a person who "loves to learn".

In fact, I originally wanted to write the concept of "lifelong learning", but after thinking about it, I felt that lifelong learning seems to have become a cyclical thing, and it is not the goal I want to pursue. To be extreme, I think the phrase "lifelong learning" should perhaps be changed to "lifelong practice".

Although there are always people who say that there is no limit to learning, the things in life are endless. It is true that this sentence speaks of a universal truth, but from a real point of view, how much we actually need to learn is what we actually need to care about.

Keep yourself on the path to learning, but also bear the opportunity cost of practice.

Often, we think that taking a course and learning what from whom means we have completed a thing, increasing or strengthening a certain part of our ability. However, after a long period of experience, I believe that real ability does not come through learning.

The article " Everything Must Be Paid for Twice " states:

But no matter how many cool things you acquire, you don't gain any more time or energy with which to pay their second prices—to use the gym membership, to read the unabridged classics, to make the ukulele sound good—and so their rewards remain unredeemed.

Whatever you get today, when we're not paying attention again, it's actually very limited. The real situation should be accumulated through practice after learning.

We can study for life, and then do not practice; we can also study in batches, and then practice hard.

In the past, I used to choose lifelong learning and constantly stimulate myself through new things, but after years and months, I learned a lot, and when it came to life, I found that the situation of "limited resources" was very serious.

In a fair 24 hours a day, the practical component should be greatly improved after learning, because the accumulation of the second half will make what you learn your own.

So I think lifelong learning, as far as I interpret it, doesn't seem to be the best way. Instead, it should achieve a personality that loves learning, and further accumulate self through practice.
