Self-taught Cassandra Wilson, a fusion of wilderness and city

Let's have a mellow jazz girl today.

Cassandra Wilson was born in Mississippi in 1955, which is the region where the blues species are grown. And her parents not only love music, blues, grassroots ballads to jazz, and jazz influences her the most.

The opening song of this album immediately got me hooked

She learned the piano in her childhood, and later learned the clarinet to join the military band, but she was really tired of the training method of the military band, and begged her father to teach her the guitar, but her father recommended her to learn by herself, and she really picked up the guitar and started to learn by herself, and began Create songs. During college, she worked in residence with a cover band. In 1981, she moved to New Orleans as an assistant to the director of public affairs. During this period, she met several big people who encouraged her to pursue her dreams, so she set off for New York.

She cooperated with some orchestras or musicians in New York, and her low and deep singing voice was gradually heard. She signed a contract with JMT Records and released her first album in 1986. Continuous performances, coupled with admirable singing, after she released six studio albums and one live album at JMT, she switched to Bluenote. In 1993, she released her first album on Bluenote, which immediately won her a high level. Music critics praised her, and for several consecutive albums since then, in addition to the continuous growth in sales, she added blues or folk styles to the standard jazz music, and even added African percussion instruments later, which is quite intended to trace the musical journey of her ancestors.

I have known her since "Belly Of The Sun" in 2002, and I have started several albums before and after her. For her singing, I can only say "deep love". After all, when she is sad, her singing is like a Holding it gently, I want you not to fall into deep sadness. When your heart is cold, her singing is like grassland and warm sun, which makes you open your heart and pursue freedom and sunshine. Whether you like jazz or not, the focus is no longer on what style of music she sings, her singing is the focus, the focus is on the singing and the flow of time, you can completely forget the years in it.

This song became a personal late night love song
