Putin's History of Ukraine

(edited)

[Shuixiangweibian] In July last year, the Kremlin announced a long article entitled "On the Unification of Ancient and Modern Russians and Ukrainians" (Об историческом единстве русских и украинцев), allegedly by President Vladimir Putin. This long essay is a must-read sample essay for Russian soldiers. It details the Pan-Slavic historical views that the Moscow authorities have promoted over the years. Half a year later, the troops approached the city.

"The teacher must be famous." The seeds that led to today's war situation have long been buried in the glorious past that Putin believes in. This post summarizes the essence of Putin's article, which may help to understand and reflect on the thoughts of the two opposing sides.

. Russians and Ukrainians belong to the same race, the same language and the same religion. It is really unfortunate that the brothers are against the wall.

. Ukraine's name is derived from the Old Rusian language, which means border. The so-called "Ukrainians" originally meant border guards, not an independent race.

. Today, the so-called Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians are of the same origin and are descendants of the ancient Russians. Communicating in the same language, they all follow the Eastern Orthodox Church.

. The Russians of the Moscow lineage laid the foundation for the unification of the great powers.

. (In the past, the Cossacks raised troops to resist the rule of the Russian Empire, and modern Ukrainians regard them as their ancestors to symbolize the independence of Ukraine.) In fact, the Cossacks who followed the rebels at that time were only a few, and most of them still regarded themselves as Russians and were willing to accept them. Tsarist rule.

. The idea that the Ukrainians are a nation of their own is nonsense. This is a lie fabricated out of thin air by the European powers' intrigue, especially dating back to the hegemony of the Kingdom of Poland and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

. The borders of modern Ukraine are purely a product of the Soviet era. The Bolsheviks arbitrarily divided the territory of the Rus, so that the two places that belonged to one body were unfortunately separated.

. In the Soviet era, Ukraine was not only powerful, but also produced two top leaders of the CPSU, such as Khrushchev and Buznev.

. After independence, Ukraine became the poorest and weakest country in Europe. Extreme politicians and neo-Nazi parties with ulterior motives should be blamed for this tragedy, using the ideology left over from the previous regime to obstruct integration and spread fear of Moscow.

. If Ukraine wants to regain its glory, it needs to re-establish good relations with Russia. The two states can imitate Austria and Germany, or Canada and the United States, adjacent and similar in customs, although they are the same.
