"Short Stories" Love Pays

Xiaohui put down her schoolbag, walked to the kitchen without hesitation, and started to wash rice and cook.

That year, Xiaohuicai was in the fifth grade of elementary school.

Because her parents worked late, in order to feed her younger brother, Xiaohui took up the job, even if she didn't want to, she could only take it.

"When you're an older sister, you should take care of your younger brother. After all, you should also cook when you get married. There's nothing wrong with learning earlier!" the mother reprimanded.

So Xiaohui changed her mentality. Anyway, she has to eat, so let's cook it as she wants to eat!

Every night after dinner with my brother, I start to do my homework, and I also supervise my brother's work and rest until he goes to bed.

You must be wondering, where are the parents?

Xiaohui's parents set up a stall at the night market, and they left home in the afternoon. They didn't come home until the early morning when both sisters and brothers were asleep. Occasionally, she was woken up by the alarm clock sound of her sister and brother in the morning, and then occasionally met eyes, otherwise it would be a whole day. For those who can’t meet, the school’s contact book is signed by Xiaohui herself. If the school needs to pay the fees, they put the documents on the table. The next day, the parents will put the money on the table. The relationship was maintained like this until my parents closed the night market stall.

Suddenly, the time spent with my parents increased a lot, and the urge to love was gone, replaced by a speechless indifference, a lack of getting along and caring for a long time, causing each other to not know how to communicate, and finally Xiaohui chose to live in. The school escapes the daily embarrassing family atmosphere.

"You don't know this kind of thing? How are you going to grow up and become independent like this?" Xiaohui roared furiously.

Seeing her son sobbing and crying, Xiaohui only felt disgusted. She disgusted her son's weakness, and even more disgusted her own incompetence.

When her son returned to calm and wanted to act like a spoiled child with Xiaohui, she could only hold her son gently, but her heart was full of contradictions.

Why do I never enjoy the love my parents gave me, but now I have to give love to my children?

I also want to give love to my son, but I always feel that jealousy is burning in my heart and keeps preventing me from giving?

After all, do I want to be a child or should I be a mother?

Xiaohui never got an answer.
