Reading Air | After reading "Ito Junji's Cat Diary Primary Four & Primary Six"

(edited)
Just as Jun Ito said in the book: "The demon cat is here! The demon cat has come to my house with a curse!"
Cat model: Xiaobai, my second cat owner

Title: Junji Ito's Cat Diary, Little Four & Little Six Author: Junji Ito Translator: He Yirui Publishing: Cutting Edge Publishing Version: 1 Edition 5 Date: December 2009 Price: NT$150

Junji Ito is synonymous with horror manga. The works that impress me the most are "Fujiang", "Whirlpool", and the short story "Chair in the World". Junji Ito's horror, in addition to the oppressive style of painting, in the plot, the trivial daily life, for trivial reasons, is out of control, and it is also an important component of its horror. This daily life is the daily life that you and I have. It seems stable, but I don't know when it will break. It is very scary.

Of course, as a cat slave, my favorite work is not horror comics, but "Ito Junji's Cat Diary" (also a kind of skewness to some extent?). This book will be reprinted in March of this year, and I think it is a long-term favorite.

I remember that when I read this book (please refer to the publication date above), I lived with my cat owner for two or three years, officially crossing the break-in period and becoming a cat slave. There are many places inside that will make the cat slaves smile and say, "Yes, that's right, that's it." Another place that makes all the cat slaves in the room nod their heads is the demon cat of Junji Ito's house (Little Four). Ito Junji's original words), looks too similar to my Xiaobai! (Please refer to the cover photo)

The scary(?) thing is that the personalities are a bit like that too.

Xiaobai is a relatively shy cat, and does not take the initiative to get close to people. For a long time, they have maintained an elusive connection with each other.

Like Xiao Si, the demon cat, Xiao Bai crawls silently at home, often scaring people, especially when his roommates are sitting around the living room watching ghost or horror movies. When the breath-taking episode was playing on the screen, there was something soft and fluffy brushing my calf... Now I upgrade the horror movie experience from 2D to 4D, and the horror level is beyond the table.

Or when I woke up in a daze in the middle of the night, I was severely short-sighted in the dark and saw a pair of golden eyes staring at myself at the end of the bed...

Or in the middle of the night, you have difficulty breathing, you wake up and find your body is numb, you can't move, you are wondering if you have wandered around too much, and finally you encounter..., and then, you are stepped on, and the numb place turns into a sobering pain. .

The experience of living with cats, which is not as complicated as the record, is presented in this cat diary by Ito Junji. We seem to know each other, like parents who share parenting sutras, but we are talking about the cat-fed sutra.

In the stereotype, the cold cat and the cold horror cartoonist are broken into pieces in this comic. Unexpectedly, Junji Ito is a little nervous and timid; not surprisingly, cats are not arrogant and indifferent creatures.

At the same time, there is also a small window here, allowing me to see the way of raising cats in Japan from the end of the 20th century to the 21st century: it has changed from stocking by ancestors (please refer to "Cat Novels") to indoor breeding. There is a story of Xiao Si opening the screen window and running away by himself. Junji Ito said, " Normally, I would never let cats go out. After all, the national highway is nearby, and it is possible to get infectious diseases from wild cats. " This is indeed an urban cat. Most of them are caused by indoor cats. Car accidents and infectious diseases will threaten the life and safety of cats, and protecting the safety and health of cat owners is the most important task of our cat slaves. In the end, of course, Xiao Si was found in a nearby factory, and then the fortifications were also strengthened (dark locks were installed on the screen windows and sliding doors).

My little white will also open the screen door.

The apartment we live in is on the 5th floor, and there is a small balcony in front. Since it faces south, the balcony is often exposed to sunlight, which makes Xiaobai unable to resist the temptation to open the door and go to the balcony to absorb the essence of the sun and the moon.

At the beginning, Xiaobai didn't open the door very often. Once, he hung on the screen door like a spider cat(?), and when he was found, he wanted to jump off, but when he hooked his claws, he actually ripped off the whole piece of yarn. Later, I had to find someone to mend the yarn without telling the landlord. After that, Xiaobai finally learned to open the screen door, and from time to time he would go up and stagger up by himself. There are iron windows on the balcony, and the panes are not big or small. Xiaobai will jump on the window sill by himself to seek a better view. However, he also stepped into the air and almost fell. Later, he was forbidden to play on the balcony by himself, and he had to be accompanied by a minion. When we go out, the screen door is jammed from the outside. When sleeping at night, the inner glass door will be locked.

Cats are masters at opening doors. All kinds of doors in the home, such as screen doors, room doors, cabinet doors, drawer doors, and refrigerator doors, have the experience of blood and tears of cat slaves, as well as various follow-up defense methods.

There is also the human heart. Cats are always easy to open. We have no means of defense. There is no way to prevent cats from entering, nor can we prevent cats from leaving.

As Ito Jun 2 said in the book: "The demon cat is here! The demon cat has come to my house with a curse! "

These cats have magical powers that make us slaves and full of joy.

Hey, hey, come and be my slave (啾mi)

postscript:

In order to share this book, I dug it out of the bookcase and reread it. It turned out that there were actually two four-frame comics in the "leather" of the book (to borrow Jiang Go's term ), which was a great surprise. Although most of them buy e-books recently, the fun of traditional books is indeed not fully presented by e-books.
