What does the China-Laos International Railway bring to China's Belt and Road Initiative?

China-funded construction of a China-Laos international railway through Laos, a key project of the Belt and Road Initiative, will be fully operational by the end of 2021. The China-Laos International Railway is not only the core of the economic projects shaping the Belt and Road Initiative, but also the first large-scale passenger and freight railway since the founding of Laos. It connects the Chinese market with the markets of other countries and ports in Southeast Asia, and has a significant impact on the economy of Laos and the entire Mekong River Basin. Development is also significant. So if we want to know the meaning behind the Belt and Road Initiative, maybe we can spy a lot from this China-Laos railway project.
