Horror Daily 33: Morning Market

Downstairs of my house is the morning market, and every day I can hear the noise of hawking.

One day off, I woke up in the morning and had nothing to do, so I went to the morning market.

Halfway through the walk, I saw a very small vendor, crowded between two larger vendors, looking very inconspicuous. The vendor owner is a grizzled old woman. She simply spread a piece of canvas on the ground and put a bunch of vegetables and fruits on it.

Although her vegetables and fruits looked fresh and beautiful in color, the old woman seemed to be in a bad mood. She sat slumped on the low stool, her head lowered, her hair was messy and tangled, and her expression seemed to have no energy at all.

All the nearby vendors were desperately trying to sell their products, as if they were afraid that their products would not be sold. But looking at this old woman, she sat in her booth without saying a word, with a stinky face like a child who was angry, and dismissed the passing guests.

Is business not good? I thought so.

Somewhat out of pity, I plan to go and buy some vegetables from the old lady.

"Excuse me, how do you sell this?" I picked up a handful of water spinach and asked.

"It's free! I have to eat and eat, anyway, it's a pity that these dishes can't be sold out..." The old woman said to me in a very unpleasant tone without raising her head.

free of charge?

It was strange to hear the old woman say that. She must be in a bad mood because she doesn't know what to do. Otherwise, if she goes out to set up a stall to do business, how can she directly give the goods to the guests?

Of course, I'm not the kind of person who would take advantage. Even if the boss said no money, but I took other people's food, but not even a dollar is too strange.

So I still took out a 100 yuan and said to the old woman, "This is not good! The weather is so hot, of course you have to earn a little money to go back when you work hard to set up a stall. Come on, I'll give you the money."

"Forget it!" The old woman was still like me, and she didn't want to reach out and accept the money. "What's the use of making money when I'm dead? No one is using NT dollars!"

That's right, listening to the old woman say this, it seems to make sense...

Huh?

When I came back to my senses, I found that many people cast inexplicable glances at me. I was squatting on the ground with water spinach in one hand and banknotes in the other, no one knew what I was doing, because there was no one in front of me, and the old woman didn't know when she disappeared.
