Belgian Muffin Breakfast and Manneken Pis Drag Show | My Checkered Pie Memories

(edited)
The hot chocolate flowed freely between the grids. When I took a bite, it felt like a warm current in my heart. It slipped out of the corner of my mouth accidentally. The black gold dripping on my fingers is very precious, and I don't want to waste a little bit.. ....

After taking a break and writing for a while, before the epidemic subsided, I began to recall the time when I could travel abroad.

To undertake the previously mentioned Belgian Train Chasing Psycho , apart from the frightening temporary platform change, there are actually quite good memories. Having said that, I heard from a friend that it is very common to encounter a platform change in a train in Europe, just like encountering a train delay in Taiwan. Fortunately, the planned trip was not delayed, and it gave me the opportunity to share this article.

The purpose of this trip was originally to attend a friend's wedding in the Netherlands, so I took a long vacation and planned to arrange a free trip for the land I set foot on for the first time. My favorite thing to do is to open Google Maps, connect the points I want to go, and then use Funliday to pull the itinerary along the way. Every time I finish the arrangement, I feel very fulfilled. After repeatedly looking at the scheduled itinerary in the Netherlands, I had a whim and decided to fortify a Belgian itinerary. I always felt that I would make a special trip to Belgium in the future. Because there was only one and a half days to spare, I only lined up in Brussels, the capital, and planned to have a key (lazy) trip.

In fact, I am an uncompromising tourist. Given the limited time, I will not deliberately avoid crowded scenic spots. After all, it is rare to come here once.

Speaking of "My Checkered Cake Memories", I have tried several muffin specialty stores in China, and I remember that when I first got it, it was freshly baked and hot, but it quickly cooled down. What follows is a squishy, spongy texture, which I don't really like, so I always finish it off in quick gulps with toppings or jams before it gets more mushy.

However, on the way to look for the Manneken Pis statue in Brussels that time, the specialty store on the street in front of me subverted my idea of Waffle.

The first is vision. Just by looking at the display under the glass window, you can see how big this "lattice universe" is. The collocation of Belgian Waffle is very changeable. In addition to the basic items such as cream, caramel, condensed milk and jam, there are also fruit, ice cream and Belgium's most famous chocolate for interactive matching. All kinds of tricks are put out, which looks full of momentum. Just looking at the appearance is dazzling, but it is just a bit of happiness.

Then there are the types. Originally, there are two types of Belgian waffles. One is the Belgian traditional muffins, which are mostly rectangular in shape, with a fluffy taste and a strong aroma. The other is the scorching sun muffin, which is relatively small, close to round or irregular in shape. There will be sugar particles in the middle when you bite it, and the taste is crisp and sweet. Both types of lattice cakes have their own advocates, but here you can eat both.

Lastly is the taste. I think the aroma is stronger than Taiwanese muffins. The ones I ate were crispy on the outside but not soft on the inside, dense and firm under the crust, more elastic than muffins and not like baked biscuits. As for the taste, of course, I choose the Belgian specialty chocolate. The hot chocolate flows freely between the grids. When I bite it, it feels like a warm current in my heart. It slipped out of the corner of my mouth accidentally. I don't want to waste a little bit, that satisfaction is really unforgettable for a long time , and honestly it's more fragrant than Waffle itself...

On our way to visit Manneken Pis, I was attracted by the shops, the Waffle shop, the chocolate shop, the dessert shop. I suspect this may be a deliberate arrangement for tourists. It's like playing an RPG game, being entangled by monsters on the map, and after one monster hits another, there is no way to avoid it. Fortunately, we haven't had breakfast yet, so we chose two stores to buy one each. I can only say that in this slightly cold spring, this kind of happiness is very good.

While eating the plaid cake, I went all the way to the Manneken Pis to visit him. It just so happened that on the same day, there was an activity where a group helped children change their clothes. It is said that the statue of the child has been standing on the street for a long time because he has no clothes, so people have been helping him to dress him from time to time since the seventeenth century. Later, the management set up a method for this purpose. They can donate clothes to children by applying to the city government, and they can even make an appointment to hold a formal dressing ceremony for the children. Taiwan has also participated in this interesting activity .

When we arrived, we happened to meet a mustache club that was helping children change their clothes. The members all have big beards, neatly dressed, parade in caravans, and look very funny. Everyone hummed and danced around the child, and the passers-by also cheered and cheered. The scene was full of excitement. That morning, we spent a happy time in the company of Waffle, and this is another one. Interesting story...
