My Checkered Pie Memories | Exclusive Mom, Exclusive Checkered Pie

During the Lunar New Year that year, because I accompanied my mother to the temple to worship God and pray for blessings, I was able to occupy my mother for most of the day and enjoy the checkered cake once.

Speaking of checkered cakes, what I think of is that during the Lunar New Year that year, because I accompanied my mother to the temple to pray for gods and blessings, I was able to occupy my mother for most of the day and enjoy the checkered cakes once.

Since the birth of my mother, I have not had the opportunity to enjoy the love of my father and mother alone. I was "forced" to share my parents with my sister. In addition to the birth of my two younger brothers, I had even less chance to "enjoy" my mother's love.

Every Lunar New Year, my mother has a tradition that she will not go to New Year's greetings on the third day of the first year. She said that the third day of the third year is naked, and it is easy to get into disputes or quarrels, so she usually goes to pray to the gods on this day.

On the third day of the new year, my mother said that she wanted to go to the Wong Tai Sin Temple to pray to the gods and make a wish, and it took about an hour and a half to drive from our house. Because of the long distance, the two younger brothers did not want to follow their mother to worship God, and the elder sister invited friends to go shopping and gather together, so my mother called me.

Also because of the long distance, I was worried that she would go alone, so I agreed to accompany her to visit the Wong Tai Sin Temple together as a date with my mother. That's it, I monopolized my mother for most of the day.

In those years, there was no new crown pneumonia. On the third day of the new year, the Huangdaxian Temple was crowded with people, inside and out. Some people were holding incense candles, some people were holding windmills or lucky knots. All kinds of people and things crowded together. Noisy and cheerful.

After worshiping the gods and praying for blessings, I came to the outside of the temple. Wow, I entered another lively world! There are a lot of itinerant vendors near the temple selling all kinds of things, such as lucky knots, windmills, fortune crystals or zodiac jade. There are also drool-worthy street food, such as siomai, fish balls, bowls of fins, lettuce fish, skewers, etc., of course, checkered cakes.

When I saw the food, I told my mother that I was hungry and asked if I could buy food to eat, but the frugal mother was not willing. This answer is also expected. At that time, we lived in public housing, and we would save on food, clothing, and transportation, and there was no such thing as snacks on weekdays. Of course, I didn't give up this opportunity easily. From the street "grinding" to the end of the street, my mother finally couldn't resist my begging and agreed to buy something for me to eat.

Without further ado, I opted for these butter and peanut butter checkered pancakes. Downstairs in the housing estate where I live, there are often these gourmet hawkers, and I usually drool over them and want to buy them. It's a rare opportunity to have a good time.

This is what used to be a street vendor's stall, now it's becoming more and more rare. Many street shops still buy these street snacks, but they are different.

The checkered cake that time was very satisfying. At that time, I thought it was a great delicacy in the world, and I also felt that my mother was the best to me!

Sure enough, memories are always good! Ha ha!
