Tea restaurant talk

Memories of my tea restaurant and connection with the tea restaurant

Living in Hong Kong, tea restaurants can be seen everywhere in our daily life, and they are so commonplace that they can no longer be ordinary. Because it is so close to daily life, ordinary people's memories and various interactions in life, it seems that it is difficult for the tea restaurant to be absent.

I remember the time when my brother and I both went to work until he got married and moved away. The tea restaurant is often a place where the two of us coexist. At that time, my younger brother was very interested in tea restaurants, and once wanted to open a tea restaurant by himself. He also joked with me, asking me to find a chef to be his brother-in-law who can help him in the tea restaurant business. of course! I didn't find him a chef brother-in-law, so he went into accounting, which is another story. At that time, we liked to have breakfast at the tea restaurant on weekends or Sundays, and chat by the way. I have lived in Tai Kok Tsui and Sha Tin. My brother and I have tried almost all of the tea restaurants near our home. There are delicious food and good service, and there are food and service that make us shake our heads. Our favourite is still Kim Kar Lok in Tai Kok Tsui. I hope @風 Wake can tell me if Jin Jiale still exists?

My brother and I had a good relationship since childhood. So after we've grown up and devoted ourselves to work, we'll find a place to chat on the weekends. Liao some joys and sorrows, happiness and troubles at work, especially some things and thoughts that may not be convenient for parents to know. As my brother got married and moved away, my weekend with him came to an end. But the time we spent together at the tea restaurant became a fond memory in my life.

In addition to hanging out with my younger brother, the tea restaurant is also a place I often go to when I am alone. Before I knew it, it became a testament to my boldness and independence. I'm not afraid to eat out alone. Many people find it awkward to eat out alone. Especially in places like tea restaurants, many middle-aged and elderly bachelors always look at women eating alone. But I'm just thinking about these things. So my brother always said that I was daring.

The tea restaurant fully reflects the local culture of Hong Kong. The food sold in the tea restaurant includes delicacies from all over the world. Chinese style, Western style, Thai style, Vietnamese style, Japanese style... In short, if someone wants to eat, someone will make it soon. It fully reflects the flexibility and courage of Hong Kong people. The customer group served by the tea restaurant is mostly grassroots citizens, and most people do not expect them to make delicious delicacies. As part of the community, the familiarity and human touch of the neighbors are more cherished. Whether it is for lunch at work or for leisure on holidays, I often go to tea restaurants. As a restaurant with a neighborhood business, most of the guys are from the grassroots level, but they have their own way of serving customers. After a period of steady patronage, the guys will have a good understanding of the likes and needs of regular customers, and in many cases the services they provide will be very appropriate. For example, I often order take-out from a tea restaurant for lunch on work days. After patronizing for a period of time, the uncles and aunts who delivered the takeaway knew that I was visually impaired and would often deliver it to my seat without having to go to the office door or the elevator lobby to pick up the takeaway.

With the wave after wave of the new crown epidemic for three years, Hong Kong has also banned sweets at every turn. I believe that in the past three years, many tea restaurants have been struggling to support. I hope all the tea restaurants that work hard can get through this difficult time. I also hope that Hong Kong people can eat and drink freely as before.
