Recently, a book called Brain Food has been planted by Lisa Mosconi, an Italian-American neuroscientist. The book outlines one point: diet is the only source of nutrition for our brains, so the food we eat every day is also Long-term determines brain composition and neuronal flexibility.

Brain Food, by Lisa Mosconi

High-quality fats, phytonutrients, and carbohydrates can fuel the brain and increase neuronal flexibility, while saturated fats, toxic metals in processed foods, sweeteners, emulsifiers, and more can cause irreversible damage to the brain.

The difference between two different eating habits

I've drawn some key points from the book about how food powers the brain and the classification of good fats.

In fact, the author Lisa's main research direction was Alzheimer's disease in women before, and it was her grandmother who had Alzheimer's who prompted her to conduct brain research. In this book, she mentioned that before the onset of Alzheimer's disease, the structure of the brain is still gradually changing 20 or even 40 years ago, which shows that this disease can be prevented in advance! ! I believe everyone knows that the current drugs to treat the disease can only alleviate, not cure, and this research can bring a good signal to many people ♥️

According to her previous data in XX Brain, in the United States, 2/3 of people with Alzheimer's disease are women; 45-year-old women🚺 have a 1/5 chance of developing the disease, while men of the same age🚹 have 1/10.

Many people may have doubts, and Americans may have different habits, which leads to this difference.

So I also found a paper published in "Nature" by Shenzhen University of Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021, which conducted related research on Alzheimer's disease in Chinese women, and also explained the reasons. It turns out that everything is related to women. Menopause after aging : "As women age, ovarian function declines, and after menopause, female hormones decrease and follicle-stimulating hormone is no longer suppressed, which in turn makes women more susceptible to Alzheimer's disease."
