Weekend Talk | Mid-year in chaos

Still a messy essay

Second book found by moving house

Moving this week and haven't settled in for seven days.

Before graduating from university, I had never moved, and the university I attended was near my hometown in Taipei. The habit of reading and drinking coffee is not only cultivated by the family, but also because of living in that neighborhood. I mentioned before that "Paris is very familiar to me", there is a community with a park and green space just a few meters away, and The highest density of independent cafes, there are two Eslite and other small bookstores on one road... I always feel that Paris is the closest place to Taipei.

But that seems to have changed a decade ago.

But I want to say that because I have lived in one place for more than 20 years, I have accumulated a lot of stylish waste - there are too many good and bad memories, and it is also the most comfortable place for me. Since I was a child, I liked to take a walk in the park, Rolling inline or biking, living in the city but having a lot of good country-like memories (ignoring the dark ones for a moment) - all tangibles are hard for me to let go, even if I barely take them I don't want them to disappear.

When I moved for the first time, I felt like I lost hundreds of boxes of meaningless souvenirs brought back from my travels abroad and my relatives and friends. I thought I had lost everything before the age of 22, but in this move (it seems to be my fourth move), I found a lot of unexpected things.

Last Sunday, I found the yellowed flute etudes. Those scores were brought back from Europe by the flute teacher at that time. Whether or not they were preparing for the examination, they started with long notes, arpeggios, legatos, and accents every day. It contains many techniques, to practice fingering, breath... It is a process that cannot be omitted, so I don't believe in any fast food.

A few days later, I found the pen that my grandfather gave me when I was a child, and tried to write it, but there was still water. But I cherish it too much. I have never used that pen before, and it has been packed in a cardboard box and moved to various places with me. Fortunately, it is still there!

Today, I found "The Lost Cafe in Youth"!

This is the book that I thought was soaked in water during a typhoon in my second residence. It was soaked and it was out of print, but I probably liked this book too much, so I bought two I don't remember it at all, but it miraculously reappeared during this move. I was very annoyed that the book of the Nobel Prize winner for literature was no longer printed. After all, this book also has memories of my youth.

Among them, I also found the Japanese CDs and posters of many of Johnny's groups that I bought in middle school. I don't remember how they didn't throw them away. Maybe they can sell them for money when they don't have money. I've never wanted to admit that I liked those things as a kid.

Even in the third or fourth move, I can still pack 20 boxes of personal belongings, which shows that it is still far from minimalism.

other trivia

The past few days have been quite crazy. I am busy moving and sorting out the sundries and buying the furniture I need. At the same time, I just happen to write the candidate's campaign announcement. That is, everyone is sending out the election declaration these days.

So the whole day’s itinerary is probably: wake up at 7:00 and drink coffee, go to the original place to do a deep cleaning, then go to buy the things you need for the new place – maybe walk to the supermarket or take an Uber to the furniture store – go back to the new place and then Call Ubereat for lunch and then go shopping somewhere nearby.

On the one hand, I also need to pay attention to the information on my mobile phone, whether there is any new copy to write. Originally, I used "Taiwan Brother University" to have no access to the Internet at the new residence. I have to keep transferring the writing from the front. Yesterday, I was on the way back from the supermarket. When I received an important notice, I sat on a roadside chair and completed a candidacy manifesto.

After a busy week, I wrote a very messy article.

After June in this chaos, I went to the department store yesterday to buy a bookcase but bought clothes on the way. When I recovered, it was close to the closing time at 9:50, and it was too late to buy what I needed, and my The holidays are also over.

In addition, it has been abandoned for a long time before, and last week I started to post regularly on social media, but Instagram still loses followers as soon as it is posted, and there is no way to reach many people on the fan page, probably because it has been suspended for too long or lacks.
