Why enter a novel contest when seven novels have been published?

(edited)
why not?

1.

Ten years have passed, and there are as many people interested in creation as ever, but there are also quite a few people who are still in the thinking stage.

I have heard people say to me more than once that I like writing and I really want to write novels, but if I ask him again after a while, there are many who haven't written yet.

Let me tell you a true story. Li Jiajie, the eldest son of Hong Kong’s richest man Lee Shau Kee, loves reading books and movies very much. He also asked many writers, including me, to talk about stories and cooperation. In the end, he was really heartbroken rather than acting. He told us once. , he tried to write a novel by himself, I asked: How much have you written? He said he had written more than 30,000 words. I think it is not a problem to write more than 30,000 words, and it should not be a problem to support 80,000 words. This is also the number of words generally required by Hong Kong publishing houses. Of course, he can publish it himself, but the book always has a certain thickness, and it is not an autobiography. You always have to write the whole story, right?

I didn't expect to meet again two years later to talk about novels again. I asked him how many words he had written now. He said that it was still more than 30,000 words. He seemed to be stuck. !

see? The richest man also has troubles haha!

Is it hard to write a novel? Disaster! But the first difficulty is completion.

Some people think about things, and demand the perfection in their imagination, so they have difficulty in childbirth.

Has anyone read Qiong Yao's autobiography? It turned out that the first person who wanted to be a writer was her husband, but her husband was too demanding. After writing for a long time, he could not write anything, but the family wanted to eat. Qiong Yao, who became a mother, was so anxious that she had to pick up a pen and write by herself. At first, her husband didn't look down on it, thinking that she underestimated writing, maybe she "underestimated", but why didn't her husband "underestimate" a mother's determination to feed her children?

She wrote several short stories, all of which were accepted by the newspapers, and the royalties she received greatly encouraged her, and that's how her novel "Outside the Window" came into being.

After reading the manuscript of "Out the Window", her husband finally admitted that she could write.

Everyone knows what happened later. After the two divorced, one became a famous writer in the Chinese world. What about the other? Having never written a novel in his whole life, the dream of a writer is really only a dream.

Even if you, like me, are not from a major and feel that your writing is not good, but if you have a story or an idea, you can write it out first, and then go back and revise it. The stories I have written so far, the scripts, the novels, are fine. They are constantly writing, rewriting and revising, and reading it over and over again. As long as you are committed enough, in the process of revising and revising, you will naturally feel more about the story. After you invest your feelings, the writing will also become smoother. , but it is best to think about the writing style before writing, just like making a movie, you have to set the tone first, otherwise the art of Fuhua Dao will follow the tone and end up in a mess.

I've seen some authors choose to self-publish, and I think whether that's the way to go depends on what you want and what you can do.

If you just want to come up with a book to keep as a souvenir, that's fine. If you have the heart to take the creative path, then even if it is self-published, even if it is an e-book, you must manage and sell it well, and no one wants to write it yourself. When the novel falls, no one will read it, right?

This is why you usually have to run other platforms, write articles to accumulate popularity, and any small spark may ignite your success - as long as your visibility rate increases, there will naturally be more opportunities.

In the past few years, many film and television companies will have people who are responsible for finding novels online, writing reports, looking for available themes, and stealing ideas and plots. I won’t discuss them here, but there will be people in regular companies who will negotiate with online novelists. For cooperation matters such as copyright, the probability of being photographed in one step into a film and television drama is very low, but the probability of being signed for copyright is not high. The premise is that you know how to package yourself, you have a certain popularity, and you cannot rely solely on the story. To give people a very active feeling, that is to say, if you really want to take the road of creation, you have to work hard at ordinary times, and you can't make a fool of yourself.

As long as it can be sold in any form, it is a good start~

As times change, what opportunities are there now for you to introduce your work to readers? May wish to think about it!

Not long ago, I took a small test and participated in a small competition. As long as I submitted the outline in the preliminary competition, I wrote more than 10,000 words and submitted it - but because it is a crime theme, it is not easy to write. Fortunately, this is a story I thought about a long time ago, At that time, I also collected a lot of related books, but in order to meet the requirements of the competition, I had to rewrite it into a case that happened in Taiwan. As a result, it took me a lot of time unexpectedly, and I didn’t want to give up. In the end, I pressed the line to catch up with the submission, and it went smoothly. I was shortlisted, but in the finals, I had to write the outline into a novel, and I was still considering whether to write it, because I participated in another competition, the Kadokawa Million Novel Award.

The cover and two chapters have been uploaded in the past two days, and it is expected to upload one chapter every two days🥰~

Chapter 1 This is my world

Chapter 2 Tuesday Questions

In addition to various awards, there are popularity awards with a high number of votes. Popularity awards do not affect the results of the competition, but I still sent my mother to vote for me. Just like this, I will not let go of any place where I can work hard🥰~

❤️If you like it, please like it!

It seems that many people participated in the mirror literature novel competition. I also participated in it. It took two months to drive out a novel with more than 120,000 words. It was uploaded an hour before the deadline, and I didn’t even have time to read it again. 😂.....

Some people are embarrassed to say that they are afraid that they will not win the prize. In fact, whether they win the prize or not is a bit of luck. Luck comes from all aspects. I remember many years ago in the Crown Million Novel Competition. The first prize winner was Zhang Guoli, the work is the Huns, I still remember that I read it all in one go. Although I did not participate in the competition, I still think when I see various competitions, if I participated in the novel competition with Zhang Guoli, I would not be able to write it. prize.

Of course, you don’t have to tell others when you participate in the competition, but you don’t have to do it for the sake of face. For the creation you love, you have to be a little bit resolute, move forward bravely, and don’t be afraid of what others say.

Think of it as a conversation with yourself! Can you stand the test? Can you focus on nothing else, no matter what, except for the creation itself, other people and things are not on your mind?

A friend asked me why I still want to participate in the competition, I feel like I have to go back...

I said yes, it’s the way back. When I first decided to take the creative path, I started with competitions and various submissions. Now my book in the mainland can’t be published. The road that leads me to realize my dream of being a writer, isn't it?
