Reading Notes "Chen Yinke's Lectures on the History of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties" 7

The most interesting is the talent strategy of Emperor Xiaowen. He defied public opinion and advocated that the selection of talents (including the selection of in-laws) is the most important thing, rather than talents. "It should be noted that Xianbei has no culture at all... Xianbei aristocrats cannot wait until they understand Confucianism or have talents before they can achieve the same social status as the Han people." It's ridiculous that Cui Hao, Han Xianzong and others have not stopped arguing about the importance of "human relations". I really don't understand the mind of the leader.

Chapter 15 Sinicization in the Early Northern Wei Dynasty (Cui Hao Problem)

Why sinicization is "positive flow", and anti-sinicization must be "countercurrent"?

"Cui Hao's death was either thought to be caused by ethnicity (the Huayi issue) or religious (the Buddhist and Taoist issue), but neither of the two were actually the main reasons for Cui Hao's death. Cui Hao wants to "organize human relations and distinguish surnames and clans".

Human relations refer to Confucianism, and surnames refer to families.

"Cui Hao can be said to be a person who wants to join the Xianbei government in order to implement the aristocratic politics that integrates his high officials and Confucianism."

Where is this going to put the Xianbei rulers?

Cui Hao also advocated festival-level Xu Jin for the matter of "acquiring Huaibei land". It can be seen that people who read a lot are more cautious.

Chapter 16 Sinicization in the Late Northern Wei Dynasty (Emperor Xiaowen's Sinicization Policy)

Emperor Xiaowen implemented Sinicization, and his eyes fell on how to make the Xianbei aristocrats accept the Han culture. That is, how to integrate the Xianbei aristocracy with the Han people, not only make the Xianbei aristocracy have a political status, but also make the Xianbei aristocracy have a social status, so as to consolidate the rule of the Northern Wei Dynasty and then annex the Southern Dynasty.
