Palindrome | Remembering

(edited)
This palindrome poem written at the beginning of the year for the protesting Burma was sent to my hands at the end of the year, as if to conclude the end with the beginning. Suddenly I remembered Sartre's sentence "All beginnings are for the end", is that what he said? What a frustrating sentence. It's nice that some begin and never end, and some that end as soon as they start. Again, this poem can be read forwards, backwards, and one-stop. The starting point and the ending point can be so similar.

[Message] On the last day of 2021, looking back, I have three words to accompany me this year - struggle, helplessness, and growth. These three words are not only a description of my own experience, but also a summary of quite a few things we will see around the world in 2021. At the beginning of 2021, we have witnessed the coup d’etat in Myanmar and the struggle of the people of Myanmar; the struggle continued, sometimes it turned into a helpless struggle, and the helplessness inspired the struggle again, and so on. In the same way, in the cold but cold days of early spring at the end of February and early March, I was also wandering between helplessness and struggle, and even now I am still entangled between the two. Is it true that individual pain and the scars of collective memory are so seamlessly integrated? Are distressed individuals encouraged when they see group struggles? If the group's helplessness is displayed, the individual struggle will appear "precious" or even not understood.

Many cities have witnessed the struggle from generation to generation, just like we witnessed the struggle in Hong Kong and the helplessness she fell into, silently recorded and endured; in the same way, our body also gave us like the city we love. a place for the soul to live in. We, we, we... fight, helpless; helpless, fight...

Then comes growth. Where do you grow up? It seems that only struggle can grow, right? What kind of despair is helplessness, I hope those who have never experienced it will never know how it feels. Struggle is change, and so is growth. The early spring of 2021 is such a season. I opened my eyes at the most painful place and stood up and continued to move forward, and I gained a year of growth. Like the growth of a baby, any kind of growth is painful and reborn.

nostalgia

The sky is throwing sparks

children killed in the street

man and woman

brother and brother

children killed in the street

hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder

brother and brother

Say no to peace

hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder

Afraid not afraid of the fate of life

Say no to peace

Bleeding gurgling

Afraid not afraid of the fate of life

Looking at the spire of the Golden Pagoda in Yangon

Bleeding gurgling

country instead of love

Looking at the spire of the Golden Pagoda in Yangon

Soldier privately holds gun in hand, hands raised

Love replaces country

Mars in the sky
