The day I did everything backwards

Most people follow a daily routine. They get up, go to school or work and then come home. Imagine that they did everything backwards one day. What would happen? Let me tell you.

It was seven o’clock in the morning. Dad was in the kitchen. He said, ‘I’m preparing dinner.’ I was surprised. Dinner in the morning? Then Mum said, ‘Go polish your shoes, iron your uniform and pack your school bag. Then you can use your tablet for an hour. After that, do your homework.’ Why did Mum ask me to do everything backwards? I was puzzled but I did what she said. After all, I could use the tablet to watch online videos! Yay!

We had lunch at noon (It was the only normal thing today). Then Dad said, ‘Time for school, Emily. Let’s go!’ I didn’t put on my uniform or have my school bag with me, but Dad just didn’t care! At school, all students and teachers were in pyjamas, and classes went on as usual without textbooks. How strange!

Around six o’clock in the evening, Dad drove me home. Mum was at the door. She looked at me and said, ‘Go get dressed now. Put on your jacket and zip it up. Remember to tie your shoelaces. Then tie up your hair and comb it. You can go to bed after that.

Go to bed with my uniform and shoes on. Oh my!
