We are all Xianzi and her friends
When I arrived at the Haidian District Court at 1 o'clock today, the door was already full of people who came to support Xianzi.
Mostly young people, many of them male. There were so many people that it almost filled the entire street, but it was surprisingly quiet. Until Xianzi appeared, there was only some noise in the crowd, but there was no noise. Everyone put up signs neatly, counted 1, 2, 3 and shouted "Come on strings". Someone went up to hand over flowers, a strange girl whispered a few words to Xianzi, and then hugged each other, and more people just silently began to wipe their tears. Facing the crowd, Xianzi said that she was afraid that she would "fail up" and let everyone down, but she believed that "history may repeat, but it will definitely move forward."
The quietness of the crowd set off the loud voices of the police "maintaining order". They drove the crowd to the road and cordoned up. They also rudely detained a foreign journalist on the grounds of "checking interview qualifications". There were voices of solidarity in the crowd, but the tone was very calm and rational: "If you want to detain someone, please show your ID", "Don't detain someone directly in plain clothes", "Let's get out of the way and don't block the road", "Everyone don't talk to the police." conflict"...
I accompany Xianzi to the entrance. She quickly packed up her emotions, and in a trance, she had already swept the Health Treasure at the door of the court in cooperation. Her palms were cold and sweaty, but they were warm. Before I could react, she, wearing a khaki coat and carrying a small leather backpack, disappeared in front of a few people in dark blue uniforms. I can't imagine the courage and determination she had with such a thin body to walk into such an unknown building alone to face such an unpredictable lawsuit. I think she must tell herself that she did not get to where she is today because of herself.
After the court session, some of the friends who supported Xianzi found a conference room in a nearby hotel to escape the cold, while waiting for the result. In fact, many people don't know each other, but they just trust each other and go together. When we got to the room, everyone also opened the door, welcoming new people at any time. Then dozens of people gradually sat around and began to introduce themselves and their relationship with Xianzi one by one. Except for a few people who are her close friends, more people are "inspired by her" or "people she has helped". Everyone recorded videos and wrote small notes for her together. When there was no media to report, everyone was eager to make even a faint voice. At the same time, friends who couldn't arrive from other places sent milk tea and fried chicken to express their support. The whole conference room was full of food.
As night fell, more than five hours had passed, and the court had passed its normal working hours. I returned from the hotel to the door of the court. The police have raised more cordons, and new young people are coming one after another. Because of the work that had to be done today and the symptoms of a cold the day before, I decided to leave first. On the way home, my friend and I ordered 50 cups of hot milk tea to be delivered to the door of the court. At this time, someone in the WeChat group at the scene added me as a friend, and they directly transferred money to me, saying that they were in Fujian.
In addition to the on-site WeChat group, there are five online WeChat groups supporting Xianzi. People in each group are synchronizing the situation on the scene with friends from afar, and at the same time ordering hot drinks, warm babies, gloves, candied haws, oden... The takeaway has no idea who the recipient is. It's "Ms. Xian's friend" and then everyone says "We are all".
Some people are walking in the crowd like hawkers, sharing food and drinks for everyone; others are reminding "you need to distribute some warm babies and food to the police", "the police insist on giving them if they don't want them, they are also tired", "everyone must Take away the rubbish."
It has been 10 hours since I wrote these words, and the string has not yet come out. Before she went in, she had a gastroenteritis attack, and I don't know how she faced those long proofs, humiliating procedures and hopeless waiting in the past 10 hours.
But I only know that these 10 hours are very important 10 hours in my life. I have seen lively people who are kind, firm, soft and rational. No one shouted any slogans, no one had any intentions, and no one came up with any ideas or abilities. Just being there, just waiting, just accompanying.
On that cold street in Beijing's winter night, there were piles of hot food and flowers, and countless souls that could not be erased. If you are like me and have seen such a group of people, then you will definitely be like me, and you will no longer feel that any dark night is far away.
Like my work? Don't forget to support and clap, let me know that you are with me on the road of creation. Keep this enthusiasm together!
