Interns do not have a fixed job. Usually, after finishing the work in the group, they can use the computer to pretend to be busy at the position. However, if you want to become a regular, it is not enough to get acquainted with the people in the group, because the "big guy" who has the right to decide will ask everyone in the department what they think of him. If someone happens to say that he is not good, then Should be broken.

Because I really want to be a regular, I will ask other groups if I need help when I am done. I am a person who can avoid contacting people as much as possible, and I am not a new person who has just come out of the society, but in order to get a chance to become a positive person, I force myself to be thick-skinned every day. Everyone in other groups, regardless of their professional titles. The location asks what I can help with, or if I know what project someone is working on through a meeting or chat, I will offer to offer what I can help on that project. And regularly ask people if they want to buy food, drink coffee, and get closer to each other.

In the middle, I also encountered many situations of "hot faces sticking to other people's faces buttocks" or being shot and stared at. I believe that most people don’t like very aggressive people at work, and I also learned how to make people feel that they are aggressive but not annoying until I was in formal work in the future. nasty state.

There are also two big problems, English and communication skills. English is not my native language. Under the education in Taiwan, I could memorize words and take grammar exams. But when I went to the United States to study at the graduate school, I didn’t dare to speak to foreigners at first. Looking for a job, I forced myself to practice speaking every day. In the previous company, I used to chat more with foreign colleagues and even company security, and I gradually got used to speaking in English. But compared with most people in Qijin, my English is really bad. Some ABC girls and even local female colleagues despise me. Most of the time when I ask them if they need help, they will be rejected. Give me a roll of eyes, I'm either trying to interrupt me when I'm talking or I'm impatient, I'm quite frustrated. The other is small talk. I am a very boring person. I have no enthusiasm for some food, drink and fun, and I am not funny. Chatting with people often ends up being very dry, because our topic is work, otherwise it is our past experience or children, so Often I am very afraid of chatting with people one-on-one, otherwise I will listen to the Lord at the party, and I will not be able to contribute any laughs. I think it should be easier to integrate into the company if I am a good chatter.

I think the above two are the reasons why I can't be a bankers in this bank. In fact, it should also be applied to the promotion rules of the foreign business office. If you can speak well and English is good, it can make people happy and look good. Certainly, even if the work ability is not top-notch, most of the boss and colleagues will like it. Effort is not enough here. How to be vocal and easy to let people see that you like you is more important than hard work. Even now I can't achieve this, because I just don't like to make five points and eight points, I will feel guilty, or find people to network all day long, so I'm just a nobody in this company Until I quit this year. Some people may think that I am not aggressive enough, but I am at this age and I just want to be myself.

Off topic, although this bank mainly communicates in English, more than half of Hong Kong Enterprise Gold’s business comes from mainland companies, so some of my colleagues want to practice Mandarin and take the initiative to speak Mandarin to me. Luckily at least it's my native language, and on the train of the times, it's hard to imagine my situation would have been worse if I came to Hong Kong 20 years ago to work and Mandarin was not popular. Later, after I was determined to work in Hong Kong, I went to the Education and Promotion Department of the University of Hong Kong to learn Cantonese, but my Cantonese is still not very good. My daughter sometimes used to be my Cantonese teacher and laughed at me.

In addition to a few white-eyed female colleagues, there are also four people who made a deep impression on me. The first Miss A, like me, is an Associate. On the surface, she is very easy to get along with. She also buys food and chats, but I found that every time I did something for her, she would not copy me when I submitted it. She will directly say that she did it. Oh my god, it's because of how insecure she is in her job, but I'm too embarrassed to offend her. In addition to helping her less, I will e-mail her for any work communication in the future. team, I don't want to do white labor. I still remember on the last day of my internship, this Miss A threw me a slideshow and asked me to make it. I really rolled my eyes, but these complaints were all psychological theaters. On the surface, I still didn’t fall out with her. After 2018, if there is a better opportunity, go to another company.

Another B younger brother, this younger brother came to Qijin in the middle of our internship. He is a two-year intern of the operation program. I sat with him and another intern who came with me. Together, it is normal to get along with each other, and go to dinner together. At that time, the bank was preparing for the inspection of the competent authority. This younger brother was here to support the KYC filing. Then another intern and I were unfortunately pulled together for support. Two days later, the department had to hold a meeting to discuss the possibility of being arrested by the competent authority. Sampling KYC files, we just want to help bankers see these files and quickly summarize the key points. I remember there are 60 files. The files in the hands of another intern and I are not complete, so it is like reading a book from heaven to me. In the same way, if this is missing or the other is missing, we will ask brother B. If he is familiar with the KYC system, can he ask him to help him find out the complete information, as well as some KYC terms and abbreviations of bank products, can you ask him to teach us, all of us Each person can be divided into 20 to see. He told us that what we have is all we have, and he has no other information, and he does not know how to do KYC. As a result, on the day of the department meeting, another intern and I were electrocuted on the spot by the boss, and we were scolded that we were not ready to waste everyone's time. When it came to brother B, he had already prepared, what KYC process and scoring standards? , the company's shareholding chart, etc. are all available. Everyone who is talking about it is all over the place. Therefore, the boss likes this little brother very much. At that time, it had been a few weeks since the internship. Another intern and I did not expect to get out of this place Younger brother, we think it may be that this younger brother B has turned into a regular, and then we also discovered the intention of this younger brother. For the first time, the intern and I went to dinner without competing with each other and scolded this younger brother for his scheming. . This little brother B later came to the Middle Office as a full-time job. Later, because the work was too boring, he went to another company as a junior banker.

Speaking of Mr. C, I feel sorry for another intern, because Mr. C likes to chat with women who have just joined the company or who are lower in rank than him, and then go to have a coffee and a meal, very Sincerely give advice in the workplace and the do's and dont's of the department, he is a good person and takes care of people, but most of them are limited to women. Later, at an event I mentioned that when my daughter was two years old, he should have stopped treating me as a woman, hahaha. But now he is still one of the few colleagues who are still good friends in the company. Young Master C also has a super skill that is management. No matter how many bosses change, Young Young Master C is still rising step by step. I wish him a higher MD in the future. .

Finally, there is Mr. D. This gentleman can be said to be a wonderful businessman, because he is looking for a client from the mainland who comes to Hong Kong. Basically, he comes to sleep business. The parent bankers in the mainland help him take care of the business, so His performance is really good, so good that he can put a watermelon without him. In this case, basically he comes to the company every day as an email forwarding machine. If the customer has any needs, he will forward it immediately. Open an account, okay, forward it to the account opening colleagues and interns for help, and want to do foreign exchange, okay, forward it to the market product colleagues to call customers. Every time I visit a customer, I say two or three opening remarks, and then I ask the product colleagues to talk about the rest. Then the internal emails in the company never return, and the status of the instant messaging software is always offline. I was miserable as an intern at that time. Although the other one supported him, the D boy always threw those garbage to me. . The company law complied with him and asked him to be fined by the competent authority for a customer. What reason does he have to continue dealing with this customer? After the good answer, he complained that the writing was too detailed, and that he did not want to be responsible for the accident when I wrote it in high altitude. The deeds of this young man can’t be told in three days and three nights. I still have a lot of contact with him after I changed my position, and I can share more. This young man got along very well and returned to the mainland to be a parent banker, but he was also disgusting. I don't know how long he could last.

I hope that I will write about one or two more times to end my internship at that time, otherwise I will be very embarrassed to the readers and keep going around this place. After that, I want to write about myself and my life in Hong Kong after I became a regular student. I switched to a different job than my internship. I used to have no time to write at work, but now I am very happy to have the time to record the wonderful things that I have experienced in the company but have nowhere to say. Thank you to the readers who are willing to take the time to read my articles.
