Tincture ♠ Citrus peel in alcohol
IPFS
➤Main material:
- High concentration of alcohol (at least 75%↑, topical, medicinal alcohol is also acceptable)
- Citrus peels (ex. oranges, lemons, grapefruit, etc.)
➤How to:
- The only key is to deal with a good peel ! All the essential oils are in the outermost layer, so for example, the white skin inside the peel of lemon and grapefruit needs to be removed. You can use a planer to shave the skin or use a knife to remove the white skin. For oranges, the white-skinned part is generally thinner, so it is usually lazy to let it go, but after soaking for a long time, it will have a little cloudy appearance, which does not affect the use.
- Soak the peel in alcohol for at least a week or two. Usually, I forget to soak it all the time, and I will take it out and filter it when I need it. Haha! It still tastes great!
- After filtering, the skin can be dried and used as an alternative natural mosquito-repellent incense.
➤ Usage:
- Sterilization and fragrance:
Use citrus alcohol as you usually use alcohol, and it is more pleasant to use with a little fragrance. - Clean and decontaminate:
In recent years, there has been an obvious water shortage season, and it is very suitable to use alcohol for simple cleaning at that time. Spray, spray and wipe, easy to solve. - To remove oil and greasy:
The citrus peel itself has a good degreasing effect, and it is very convenient to remove greasy and wipe the table every day. Those who play with DIY homemade cleaners can also increase the cleaning effect (use alone or mix and match). - Laundry and Fragrance:
I am accustomed to washing clothes with no added housework soap, but on rainy days, there will be a damp smell. It is very helpful to add some citrus alcohol when washing clothes (the smell mainly comes from bacteria that are fattened by various residual dander proteins in the body. them). - Insect and cockroach repellent:
Most of the common insects in the home do not like the smell of citrus, but you must know that the natural gas smell is very fast, and it will take years to get used to this cleaning, and gradually it will have a more obvious effect. If you want to pursue short-term benefits, the effect of orange oil may be more obvious. - Epidemic prevention and clean hands:
Alcohol is always used as a hand drier during infectious diseases, and the smell of citrus can make people more pleasant. However, alcohol-based dry hands have a good degreasing effect, and it is easy to cause excessive drying. You can wipe some hand lotion or essential oil after dry hands to adjust the oil, and the maintenance and epidemic prevention effect is better.
