Life | Spicy and Afraid of Spicy
I got up at seven in the morning and went to the toilet. When I came to the kitchen, I saw my mother peeling potatoes. I saw that there were about seven or eight potatoes in the big pot. I already guessed what today's meal was. Today, my mother must be cooking another pot of curry. .
Our whole family is vegetarian, so the ingredients for this pot of curry are very simple. The most important thing is vegetarian curry powder. There are no spices such as shallots and garlic that vegetarians cannot eat. Potatoes are the most important ingredient. Peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces. Small pieces are fried first and then simmered. My mother said that fried potatoes taste better, but due to the emphasis on health and wellness, they have rarely fried them in the past two or three years, so they simmered and simmered directly. Naturally worse.
There are not many other ingredients. Usually, the vegetarian ingredient G, the so-called vegetarian chicken, and five or six hard-boiled eggs are added. This pot of curry is our family of four's breakfast, lunch and dinner. We sometimes eat it with rice, but sometimes when we don't want to eat rice, I or ask my mother to pour me curry below.
Our family can't eat spicy food, but we love it, so my mother's curry is mild or even slightly spicy. For those who love spicy food, my curry might be considered Japanese sweet curry rather than Southeast Asian curry. Although I seldom eat out and cannot tolerate spicy food, many of my favorite dishes when I eat out are related to spicy food, including vegetarian curry rice or noodles, and laksa. I feel like I'm pushing my limits every time.
Although they are all curry rice or noodles, the taste or ingredients are different for each house. I remember that the curry noodle soup at a vegetarian stall near my home was sour and spicy. I felt like I was drinking Mala Tang, and I didn't like the curry taste anymore.
I have also tried a family of curry noodle soups that all tasted like lemongrass, because I don’t like lemongrass, so it’s hard to eat.
I don't like curry noodles that use butter noodles as noodles, slippery and bad taste. I like to use Kolo Noodles. Kolo Noodles belong to Kuching’s local specialty noodles. There are no other places. It looks a bit like Kuaishou noodles, but it doesn’t have the “curvature” of Kuching noodles. It can absorb more curry juice and is elastic, and the QQ has a great taste.
To be honest, my mother's cooking skills are ordinary. She doesn't know how to cook big dishes, let alone make cakes or dumplings. But she has been cooking for this family for 50 or 60 years, and she is still worrying about our three meals. Home-cooked meals can definitely be cooked, and the fat in our stomachs will be fattened, resulting in weight loss all year round.
For the sake of health, my sister is also sensitive to some foods, so our family seldom eats out, which causes my mother to worry about what to cook to feed us every day. Fortunately, we are all well-raised, especially my father and mother, he can eat whatever his mother cooks, and he can even eat a pot of soup for a whole day.
There are rarely three meals of soup in our family, at most two dishes. This one includes breakfast and lunch brought to the company, but my mother will cook a special pot of soup for my father, including bitter gourd or vegetable soup, because my father Toothless, soup is needed to accompany rice, but it is also a dish.
When I come home from get off work in the evening, my mother usually cooks a dish with rice or fried rice noodles as a meal for me. My mother often cooks a pot of curry or mixed vegetable rice when she can't think of what to cook. When she was not a vegetarian before, she would cook a pot of chicken rice and eat it all day. Our family's goal is to eat enough.
