Fall Festival-20190818
In the afternoon, I went to the floor meeting and met some new friends with the enthusiastic way of making friends and communicating from Cat and others in the past three days. Method summary: active, bold, enthusiastic, laugh more, praise more, facial expressions and action performances, exaggerated tone...
Join Kayla and her friend Chika tonight for Fallfest - the biggest event of the year for UNC students!
Based on Chika and Kayla's experience, we went to find food first, because Fallfest will have a whole street of free food!
Pizza, hot dogs, sausages, chicken wings, fried dumplings, cookies, rice balls, desserts, cola...
Even writing it down makes me feel horrified: why is it all this high-calorie stuff! However, these are really our daily food. So, I am gradually getting used to it, woo woo woo.
I followed my friends and ate all the way. Maybe because of the short-term high-speed eating, I didn't feel much at first, but when I ate from one end of the street to a certain distance from the other end, I began to feel suffocated. Later, my stomach stretched until I walked for three hours and I still felt faint... I was wrong. I guess I ate food that cost a few hundred RMB!
The bottle of cheerwine in the picture below is also what I got at Fallfest and is a traditional drink in North Carolina. Although it is called wine, it does not contain alcohol and is only equivalent to cherry-flavored soda. It was produced by a family business in Honshu in 1917, and to this day, drinking ice-cold cheerwine is said to be an annual summer ritual for many southerners. There were also iced cheerwine and ice cream balls distributed on the spot, which tasted really good!
Leaving the food street, we followed the crowd to the promotional booths of various clubs. Officially, UNC has about 800 student organizations, and the entire football field was filled with booths and people that night.
As a strong sports school, UNC has a lot of sports clubs. Even the Quidditch in Harry Potter has a real-life version of the club. cup). In addition, various volunteer service groups, various topic focus groups, school department-related organizations, professional or occupation-related organizations, ethnic or social minority groups, regional organizations, etc. are all available.
About a dozen or so clubs registered emails and other information at the scene (not necessarily to participate, just expressed interest and subscribed to their emails), and took a lot of small gifts and flyers. Finally, we also saw a live performance.
What a very exciting night! I chatted with different people for a long time or a short time, and also got in touch with a lot of campus culture, traditions and customs here. There is a lot of new information received every day! And it was a very meaningful experience!
Continue to explore and feel it~
