Reading Notes|Slash Youth‧Practical Edition: Become an internal controller and build a positive cycle of a happy life
The last time I watched "Slash Youth" , I thought it was almost middle-aged and it was too late, but I still chased after this "Slash Youth: Practical Edition" - unexpectedly benefited a lot! Although there is no plan to have a slash for the time being, I love the part about active life and I am working hard to practice it. The idea of expanding from this book will open up a new direction for me. In addition, the author also shares many good books. Will be my next book.
remind myself:
The first goal is excellence (what you can control), and the second goal is success (external recognition).
The book's appeal: "Start by reshaping your concepts, laying a positive mindset, and then implementing practical suggestions to help you gradually transform into a successful person's physique, and then have a positive and happy life." That kind of pursuit, believing that the moment is the best state , and all efforts are only for the better - if you are fortunate enough to make the people around you happier, it will be even better, so it is still worth the effort.
Other notes I want to leave are also shared here:
1. The essence of happiness is "pain management": how much pain am I willing to endure?
Relying on positive self-belief, actively choosing pain rather than avoiding it.
2. Find your "passion" - a life state that is self-driven and willing to take the time to teach yourself
Problems come before learning, and learning is meaningful
3. Develop talent not for achievement or future direction, but for self, confidence and uniqueness
By eliminating and eliminating what you don't want, leaving what you really want, and gradually subtracting; after finding the standard, maintain the necessary "essentialism" . But it's not easy. It's about fighting vanity (bigger company, higher income and position), cognitive inertia, conformity pressure, and seeing that these are not the same as happiness.
4. All opportunities come with "own costs". You must learn to refuse and give up. If you can't easily say yes, you should give up decisively.
Be careful of "rumination", internal friction, and inability to extricate yourself. Accept everything as it is.
5. There's always a way, and there's always a better way: make a list of had to, replace "have to" with "I choose", write a motivation, and you'll find some are not necessary at all!
6. Growth Mindset: Attributes to what can be changed and improved, and progress from adjustment.
Learn the right way instead of just relying on intuition, understand why you are wrong, and avoid punishing mistakes
Approaches to Cognitive Change:
- Growth Diary (Cognitive Reassessment)
- Give yourself positive self-suggestion (self-fulfilling prophecy)
- Everyday has a positive start (priming effect)
7. Build a self-actualization system:
Turn problems into goals, forget goals and focus on the "system" - steps that will take you to results
8. Ways to deal with procrastination:
Happiness is advanced, pain is advanced, and tasks are easy to achieve.
9. Distinguish shallow work from deep work
Work out to be able to do the former efficiently and leave the time and energy for the latter.
10. Golden working mode:
- Choose your goals carefully - focus on key tasks
- Deep work (four hours in the morning)
- Create the optimal state of the brain (diet, sleep, mindfulness)
11. An orderly and regular life ~ abandoning excess and reducing energy consumption.
Clean, categorize, maintain, update and upgrade.
I like this book very much. It contains the essence of various schools. The borrowing time is over in a flash. I should buy it and read it again. Even if you don't have a slash for the time being, you can remind yourself: don't be too comfortable! For the existing work, I will also make a good distinction between the pros and cons, and remember to fix the good choices in my life and put my time and energy in the right place.
Like my work? Don't forget to support and clap, let me know that you are with me on the road of creation. Keep this enthusiasm together!
