People only have to try and challenge in order to make progress. It seems that the second disease of the title will drive everyone away, but Ben Xiong still wants to share his creative experience.

I have been drawing since I saw the event of Ten Children of the Weather from Matters, but I didn't expect it to be the last four days of the event to successfully submit the manuscript. In fact, when I first saw the event, I thought it was an anthropomorphic creation of the weather, but I was a little surprised when I found out that many people created it to feel the weather. So, when I saw that everyone's participating works were weather anthropomorphic works, Ben Xiong couldn't help but give a reward.

Back to the topic, this time Ben Xiong wants to talk about his creative experience. Perhaps, everything should start with Ben Xiong's paintings before interpreting the soul fragments, that is, before 2020:

That's right, in addition to painting Pixel works, this is what Ben Bear will look like as long as he uses electric painting. While painting, Ben Bear exhibited the following symptoms that would be considered "human nature":

  1. Impatient, just finish the draft and forget it;
  2. I have always felt that I am not good at painting, and I don’t want to paint anymore;
  3. Do not dare to use contrasting colors as shadows, and paint the colors as flat as possible;
  4. Do not dare to use brush strokes to paint;
  5. Always compare with others, and finally give up painting;
  6. feel colorblind;
  7. I don't know why the proportions are so weird.
  8. lazy to use reference materials;
  9. At the end of the painting, I tend to be careless...

There are too many questions to enumerate. But what's interesting is that when Ben Xiong was studying, he actually graduated first in the visual arts department (fine arts). Of course, that was not using electric painting. Maybe the difference is here: hand-painted and electric painting, Ben Xiong is the same as electric painting. Don't clip -- that's weird! Next,

Ben Xiong will solve all the above problems!

Because I have not deciphered soul fragments before, and only participate in activities such as tarot cards, pendulums, Akashic, spiritual oil, past life hypnosis, etc., no one has been able to answer me why these problems occur. By the way, maybe it is hoped to be more accessible to the general public. Coupled with social ethos and traditional thinking, modern people always describe "hit ghosts" and "ghost upper body" as very rare phenomena. Bears can't see it, so I have to clarify to you:

Just like politics, in fact, "hitting the ghost" and "going to the ghost" are common occurrences in daily life.
Three people disagree, how to reach a consensus is a kind of politics;
And a person suddenly becomes different in life, talks full of contradictions or illogical, is accustomed to being afraid of certain situations or avoids, etc., or even just doesn’t like eating tomatoes, is afraid of insects, has rheumatism when the weather changes, etc. "Bumping the ghost" is related to "ghost upper body", that is, touching the soul fragments .

Of course, it cannot be ruled out that "not good at something" is an innate characteristic, so if there are fragments that need to be interpreted, please consult professionals.

But in any case, as a student who once graduated first in the visual arts department, plus a modern young person, it is not normal to be at a loss or even take a laissez-faire attitude when facing painting. Therefore, Ben Xiong took advantage of this Weather Childhood activity and began to dismantle his own painting ability.

In the end, the following results were obtained:

Maybe you can guess before reading on which weather was drawn first.

When I started to think about how to write, I happened to see the color swatch challenge event, so in this event, Ben Bear used the following first ten sets of swatches to draw ten characters, and the drawing software was CLIP STUDIO PAINT on the iPad.

※ Initial - 4128673

At first, I didn't know how to write, I only had a rough image in my mind, so I used the method I used to write:

And so fog was born. He is a relatively expressionless child, and in terms of weather, fog refers to the condensation of water vapor composed of small water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere close to the surface of the earth. It is a common natural phenomenon, so water spots are also added. Effect.

However, after the painting, Ben Xiong found that if all the next nine children were drawn in normal proportions, it would be a difficult challenge for me to complete, so after discussing with @birdye, I added hope With the feeling of "series", I decided to draw all the characters as Q version. However, is it going to be painted like before? That kind of casual, indulgent attitude falls on one's own paintings, and no matter how you think about it, it's a little disrespectful to yourself—but then again, can I really finish all ten characters?

"Are you broken?" @ Bird Ye asked at this time, and I realized that I touched the fragments of painting: after painting, I was not recognized and treated harshly, and finally gave up the road of painting. shards.

After the interpretation, I went back to the road of painting, my thoughts were much clearer, and I knew it was time to refer to other successful examples: Piffi-sisters is a group of painters I like very much on DA, their designs are very gorgeous and eye-catching , At the same time, their Q version is also very cute, so Ben Xiong wants to refer to their style of painting.

It is worth noting that,

The reference is not plagiarism , so it is normal that you can't see where the reference is after the reference. Compared with similarity, the role of reference is actually to learn the painting style and skills of the other party, and to convert what you have seen and heard into your own skills, rather than carrying other people's things.

Finally, Weathering With Children: The Fog was done early on, on October 2nd, and took about two days .

※ Study stage - 986217

For this painting, whether it is the first draft, line draft, or part of the coloring, I used the built-in brush "thick line and water pen" on CLIP STUDIO PAINT , and the rest also used opaque watercolor, strong watercolor and transparent watercolor, and " Lasso Smudge". Using "Lasso Smear" with Apple Pencil, you can easily color the unfilled tail color block, which is very convenient.

Next is learning by reference, drawing. Due to the inclusion of design elements, I had no idea when I started to draw the second anthropomorphic, and finally decided to use the settings generator of the network to see what a sunny day looks like:

I entered different English words representing sunny days, and I got different results, but I always felt that each one was a bit strange, and finally decided to come up with a big set: sunny days in autumn. When drawing, I added mushrooms with reference to the drawing method and design of male kimonos, as well as passive Mori and high-end supermarket influences. Mmm, delicious.

Next is a cloudy day. Searching for cloudy days in GOOGLE will find many relevant photos, among which the scene of the city and the telephone poles is very attractive to Ben Xiong, so the following conclusions are drawn. Imagine a child with a long tail and hair full of clouds, watching the world quietly.

※ Mid-term - 128631

This was followed by thunderstorms , hail , and snow , which took an average of about a day for each character to complete . I don't know if Ben Bear's design expresses these weathers? Without touching the soul fragments, you can draw anything at will, which is really cool!

※ Middle and late stage - 9867311

The last four personifications are approaching the deadline, and the dangerous period of touching soul fragments begins!

Fragments that will be touched during this period are usually related to work, draft deadlines, dead lines: not being able to participate in competitions because of missing the deadline, losing work because of being late, being fined for not delivering on time... these have happened in previous lives experience has led to many problems. Hastily rushing things, rushing to catch up with deadlines, and thinking of handing in homework and finishing things, etc., all poured out at this time, resulting in uneven quality of works, and even wanting to give up participating in activities!

What happened:
(1) Deadline is approaching → (2) Touching the soul fragment → (3) I want to finish it quickly → (4) The quality of the work has declined → (5) I feel that my work is very bad → (6) I want to give up → (7) But I have already drawn half of it and want to finish it → (9) continue to draw → (repeat 3-9).

You might think that all ideas come from you, but in fact they are not. Although the world has a good side, it also has a bad side. Among them, "in the beginning of man, nature is inherently good", and "in the beginning of man, nature is inherently evil", Ben Xiong more believes in the latter. When interpreting soul fragments, there are also many examples that prove "human nature", for example:

 Mr. Z ignored and disrespected the new artist A, and kept offering advice to the professional painter. Later, the new artist A became a professional. Mr. Z wanted to entrust the artist A, but was ignored by the artist A. In the end, the relationship between the two became discordant, resulting in a dispute , the curse keeps happening. And people's revenge will come into play at this time. Mr. Z's consciousness follows the reincarnation of painter A, and since then he has carried out his work of "obstructing painter A's future painting".

After Ben Xiong wrote it, it felt like a novel plot, but maybe the reality is more bizarre than the novel plot.

When I draw the drizzle, I already start to feel like it's breaking. As a result, the color was much flatter, and the rain later became more serious. It can also be seen that the bear began to be too lazy to deal with the color change:

Although it is broken, rainy days are always a happy child for Ben Bear.

During the painting period, Bird Ye kept reminding Ben Bear that he must eat some sweets, drink milk, and shredded pieces , etc. At the same time, he also kept deciphering the fragments. During the period, he deciphered a total of 905 pieces of soul fragments, which was a disaster scene! Among them, the most affected is the thunder and showers. Not to mention the results, I was full of frustration when I was painting, and I couldn't make adjustments until all the works were completed!

Before the adjustment, the color turned green, and there was no feeling of Qinglei at all:

Decipher the finished product before Soul Fragment.

After interpreting the Soul Fragment, make adjustments, at least bring out the yellow that it should have, so that the character will not become green:

Adjustments after reading Soul Fragment.

※ Late - 12687

Finally came to the last anthropomorphic ─ ─ sunny and cloudy. After deciphering a lot of fragments, is it useful in the end? The following characters, from draft to completion, took only about four hours. Hope you can see the progress of Ben Bear too.

painting process

The above painting process is recorded by the built-in recording function of CLIP STUDIO PAINT . It has to be said that it is very convenient. Ben Xiong also took a screenshot to show how to use it:

Finally, let's review the first personification and the last personification, and look at the difference between the paintings one month after the interpretation of Soul Fragment:

On the left is the first personification, and on the right is the tenth personification.

Aside from the results, the most important change is also the mindset. At least, Ben Xiong finally no longer has to endure the mentality of feeling exhausted when drawing with electricity! Although painting skills still need to be improved, as long as you have a positive attitude and thoughts, you can overcome even more difficulties. This thing is like if you survive for one more day, you can decipher the soul fragments of one more day... Huh? Sorry, seems off topic.

The above is the mental journey of Ben Xiong participating in this event. I hope that there will be a weather image design that you like. At the same time, if you want to know about "Understanding Soul Fragments", you can follow and read Ben Xiong's article, or write a letter directly by the method of this article ! Next year, the Gas Fee for interpreting the numbers will increase, not the discounted price.

Digression: The weather is actually a key phenomenon that causes "collective breaking". If you are interested, you can read Bird Ye's [Community Activities | Ten Weather Eagles] Weather and Seasons 0725824 .
