My parents always wouldn't let me as a child to challenge the "One Line of Heaven", the narrow gap between the rocks formed by the magic of nature.

■ origin

When I was young, I often visited Yuantong Temple with my family for a while. There are my father's golfers (badminton) who play here every week, and I like to hang out at the "temple".

 Yuantong Temple, commonly known as Yuantong Temple, is located on Yuantong Road, Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, with an altitude of 180 meters. It was built in the 15th year of the Republic of China. Style and Western elements are mixed in it.

When I was young, I always claimed that I would not get lost when I went to the temple alone, because my home was at the head of the Yuantong Road, and the Yuantong Temple was at the end of the Yuantong Road. Just follow the "straight line" to get there. But without considering the strength of the feet, the circular passage is very long, a full 2.8 kilometers one way.

■ Revisit, a trace of tranquility

Revisited in September 2016.

In the midsummer afternoon of the same holiday, there is less of the crowds that I experienced when I was a child, and the various snacks and vendors outside the temple are very lively; now there are very few tourists, returning to the quiet, more solemn and solemn.

The lions and elephants outside the entrance of the mountain gate were donated by Wu Huoshi, the founder of Shin Kong Group. His name has "lion" in his name, and he especially likes to donate lions ( Shin Kong's stone lions ) everywhere.

It is guessed that the temple party originally requested that one of the pair of stone lions be changed to an elephant.

The elephant, the white elephant is in the womb, commemorating the birth of the Buddha, the representative of the noble; the lion, the lion's roar, symbolizing the Buddha's teaching, meaningless spirit.

Going up the steps, there is a stone Maitreya Buddha at the entrance; the main hall is dedicated to three golden Sakyamuni Buddhas, Manjushri Bodhisattva and Bodhisattva Bodhisattva. Think it's weird to post photos of Buddha statues? I leave it to everyone to imagine (or google it).

But we can still talk about the appearance of the main hall (below).

The appearance is Japanese-style " Mother House ". Although you might be wondering, isn't this a Chinese roof form? But at the moment of construction, it is still the era of Japanese occupation! The "stone lanterns" beside the steps on both sides are also the best decorations in the Japanese garden landscape.

In addition, the pillars of the Buddhist temple are Greek-style columns, not the "dragon columns" of traditional temples, and integrated into the popular Western architectural elements at that time.

On the whole, there is no hustle and bustle of ordinary temples, and it is light and quiet, giving people a peace of mind.

■ Preliminary exploration of the first line of the sky

Now that you are grown up, seize the opportunity to fulfill a long-cherished wish as soon as possible. It is very dangerous that the wind, the sun and the rain (and earthquakes) have not changed its color over the years.
