I have personally experienced and thought about it for a long time, and shared a few struggles

For me, I really want to say: "It's really a disaster!" To describe the feeling of never being able to stabilize and concentrate in the past few months, it really made me very uncomfortable.

But being a person must be positive and positive, so I would say that it was a stage of constantly facing challenges and then learning how to break through. Thinking back now, it will take about a few months! ? I'm all going through the stages of how to find a way to stabilize my life.

In the past year, many softwares have been replaced, but none of them feel stable and can be used for a long time. In the past few months, I silently said to myself, "That's enough!" With a feeling of anger and impatience, at that time, I had not found a better solution in a short period of time, so I just I have been in a trance for a while until these few days, after reading some smells, I finally understand!

The most important "key mentality" is not established, falling into the trap of perfectionism.

The first stage, the paranoid All in One mentality, has been shared with you before. Today, I will take advantage of the idea to slowly build up and finish the second half with you. [Extended reading: After half a year of searching, I finally return to use Agenda ]

Reduce resistance to start

I think that I have always been in the concept of "completeness". I think that after a thing is complete, it will be smooth and smooth. Even though I have been arguing with myself many times in my heart, which is more important between "starting" and "continuing to build", in the past, I always did a good job of the system, and it was an overwhelming victory.

The latest article by Esor, the webmaster of computer toys, " [Card Box Notes Method-2] Simplified Workflow, How to Change the Key First Step of Writing Flow ", which appeared at this time did indeed give me considerable redemption. Seeing the conflict in my heart is presented in this article, and there are several important concepts to break:

  • Success doesn't come from willpower or self-restrained planning, but a smart and friction-reducing workflow.
  • Focus on the core and don't complicate things that you don't need.

These two sentences made me look back on the past and found that it had taken me a long time to think that "I need to find a system, and after creating the system architecture, I can change my life through notes." Now think about it, really So stupid and naive.

It took me a lot of time to refer to many different sorting and induction methods, but because I like "creation", the original concept is simple, but in the process of continuous construction, it has become a big house with stacked beds.

It's not that architecture isn't important. For me, the overall comfort will really reach a certain level after there is a complete structure.

But to start something and keep it going, the point is not how complete the structure is, but the lower the resistance every time you want to take the next step, the better.

"Architecture must be complete" is a huge resistance. First of all, completeness is a very large definition, and it is difficult to actually list and implement it; secondly, the structure of this matter is dynamic, and many masters of note-taking have gradually become their own specialties through continuous evolution. method; in the end, no tool is "complete", whether on paper or digital notes.

In order to reduce resistance, it is super important to let go of the concept of "complete architecture".

Focus on getting the most out of yourself

I am a very sensitive person. In other words, I have a better breadth and speed of receiving information. In the vernacular, "it is easy to be interrupted" can also be called "distraction is my daily life".

Benefiting from the high-speed flow of today's society, everything around you is usually in a conscious or unintentional change every minute and every second, and you need to study your physical and mental appearance, whether it is a visible or invisible change, "easy Being pulled away” became a very important challenge for me.

Having tried many different methods, getting yourself to focus has been a test. Think about it, this may be the reason why you need a structure very much, because it is too easy to move, so "where to move" is a very important thing.

" Why would I avoid getting work done right in email, instant messaging, or even a to-do list? "Pointed out a big point: "How can we keep returning to a state of concentration?" After thinking about it myself, it can be roughly divided as follows:

  • Reduce resistance to build and update
  • Reduce search time and acquisition cost
  • Information that you can understand at a glance, reducing the need for re-conversion

Finally, integrate the above three principles in a fixed place.

There can be various sources of reception, but we need a "task note" when processing, and the task note needs to be the integration center.

The goal is clear, and when you reduce what you'll see in the process, you're less likely to be distracted.

Split tasks and notes

Yesterday, I saw a share on Twitter, listing the differences between Tasks and Notes.

Differences between task lists and notes, taken from a Twitter post

After reading this carefully, my own problems gradually became clearer. It turned out that in the past, I always thought about using notes to take into account task management at the same time, or conversely, in a system with growing task management, I wanted to complete notes together. Leaving aside the functions, tasks and notes are fundamentally very different.

Notes need to be transformed, and to-do lists are used to advance.

It is pointed out in "The Busier You Are at Work, the More Time You Need to Do Knowledge Management and Help You Get Out of the Busy Cycle ", I thought of a similar concept as this: "This is also a cyclical process, and after converting notes, you may find it necessary to Some new tasks to verify, then you can go back to the note-taking process.”

In the past, I often collected a bunch of information without digesting it, and at the moment when I wrote this article, there are more than forty tabs in Safari on mobile phones. Gathering information has become a habit, but there is no way to convert it into a personal knowledge management framework.

After a period of precipitation and reading different articles, the most important crux is this "digestion". The digested content is really your own and becomes the nutrient for personal knowledge management (PKM).

However, there is a special idea here. I want to share it with you. PKM does not have to be stored in one place. PKM can exist in every place. For example, I am now using Agenda as my task management and UpNote as my note axis. In the heart, both places should be able to become a treasure trove.
