You may have noticed that this Wednesday, the podcasters uploaded a two-minute audio file that started with the words: "Countdown! Podcasters also come to 'voice'" and they called on audiences to go out and vote for the 2020 general election.

Their tandem amazes me. As far as I know, this is the first large-scale concatenation of Taiwanese podcasters. At the end of last year, Adi released the series video he planned. At that time, I was thinking: "When will Podcasters be able to cooperate like this?" I didn't expect that someone would actually do it right away.

▨ How did this concatenation come about?

On December 27 (Friday) last year, the series video planned by Adi was launched on Facebook . At noon that day, Sun immediately followed up on the proposal within SoundOn. This is not a small project, and it is necessary to cooperate with the producers of various original programs to find the host to communicate.

She has long wanted to be a podcaster's tandem. Before the election is a good time. The closer to the election, the better the chance of being seen, and the time left is enough to execute a plan. There are only a few days left until the election is launched in series, and the positioning is to accompany the audience on the last mile.

The copywriting was completed on Saturday, and it was confirmed internally that there was no problem. On Monday, a letter was written to invite Podcasters to join. They recorded the audio files according to the copywriting, and then assigned and edited by the SoundOn team. In the end, a total of 21 creators from 15 shows participated, including the co-sponsored Firstory team. For SoundOn, the product positioning of the two companies is not the same, and there is a lot of room for cooperation.

▨ Why concatenate? What is the importance of concatenation?

If I had to briefly describe the idea of this tandem I've heard, it would be "make the pie bigger."

Many people think that the podcast field in Taiwan is growing rapidly, and even speculate that it will be the next medium to explode (like Douyin). Part of it is fact: the field is really growing, with new creators coming in one after the other. The problem is the audience. No matter how optimistic you are, as of now, podcasts are only heard by the top 10% of people in Taiwan who are most open to new things.

In this regard, concatenation has two meanings. Internally, it guides listeners to discover podcasts that they are interested in but do not usually contact (imagine how many videos you get to know new Youtubers from each other), audiences in the era of focus often only have the opportunity to contact specific creators, and tandem will bring new connections ; Externally, it makes people who are not listening to the Podcast begin to pay attention, and even become curious and become new listeners.

SoundOn made a video especially for this tandem, which was an attempt to break through the stratosphere.

▨ Why is "Negative Man" also on the list of participating podcasters?

The illustrator "Negative Man" is also on the list of participating podcasters, which confuses me a bit. In my impression, he did not do any podcasts. He only attended "Sensual One Link" hosted by Xiaoshu a few days ago. Sun revealed that it was an easter egg arranged by them, because "Negative Man" is about to have a show on SoundOn. SoundOn invited the host of the show, and many of you would never imagine that he would want to do a podcast. They are both very vocal in their respective communities, bringing in more new listeners, and on the one hand it reflects the idea of SoundOn making shows, which I love: you don't need a professional voice like a traditional radio host. Training, as long as it has a unique style, the audience will be attracted.
