Legislative Yuan Loudou × Governance on the Blockchain

Do you know what the legislators you elected usually do?

Two years ago, I found myself unable to answer. Regardless of whether they are public opinion representatives in their place of residence or residence, during voting season, I don’t know what they have done and whether they deserve to be voted for re-election.

This makes it easy for us to vote based on our party preferences, and the civil engineering community has spawned short-term projects such as the "Legislator/Member Voting Guide"; but I want to go further.

So I developed the "Legislative Yuan Loudspeaker" app myself to make it easier for me to follow the legislators and what they are doing on a daily basis:

This project is currently undergoing crowdfunding on flyingV , and we hope to cooperate with more people to develop more features.

Of course I hope you will sponsor and support; but this is not the focus of this article.

Having been in the g0v community and Gongdumeng for a long time, I know that just being a tool is not enough. We hope to get more people to think deeply: What is democracy? What is the Legislative Yuan doing? At the same time, let’s take a look at what new “democracy-like” mechanisms have been developed in the so-called blockchain governance?

So I launched another free discussion group activity called " Legislative Yuan Loudspeaker × Governance on the Blockchain ". It is expected to have a seven-week course + online discussion group from 10/23 (Monday) ~ 12/8 (Friday) , with asynchronous message discussions and online teaching videos, there is no need to participate in online meetings simultaneously. You can freely arrange your free time to participate in the discussion. The current design outline is as follows:

1. Legislative Yuan session schedule

2. Legislative Yuan Committee Description

3. Introduction to the Rules of Procedure of the Legislative Yuan (first, second and third reading, party group consultation)

4. Trivia about legislators

5. Introduction to governance on the blockchain

6. How to use governance tokens to vote & why you should stake governance tokens

7. What is the difference between democratic politics and governance on the blockchain?

In the first half, we will use the "Legislative Yuan Big Voice" app to help everyone easily understand what the Legislative Yuan is doing; in the second half, we will send OP governance tokens for free so that everyone can actually participate in on-chain governance and discuss current affairs in the Legislative Yuan and on-chain issue.

This event will not have a specific political stance, but hopes to bring about more exchanges of opinions and discussions. We learn together and grow rationally.
