Bloodbank @HSA Singapore
Time passed quickly, another 90 days passed in a blink of an eye, and it was time for my routine blood donation again.
Since the last blood donation, what happened in the past three months can be said that the world is too busy because of the global abuse of the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
And this time, Malaysia has implemented movement control, not allowing foreigners to enter the country, nor to allow their own people to leave the country; so this time, I plan to complete the personal blood donation record in Singapore - go to the four blood banks in Singapore, east, west, north and south to donate blood.
This time, the place where the blood donation was made by the Singapore Health Sciences Authority (Blood Bank @HSA ) is at the Singapore General Hospital, so there is a special bus from my house, so I can avoid taking the subway.
The blood bank of the Central Hospital is at the outermost part of the building complex, and the subway station is not far away, which is very convenient.
At the moment of the epidemic, before entering the blood bank, you must fill out a form and take your temperature.
The form filling area is very comfortable and spacious, with the largest number of seats among the four blood banks.
Blood test station:
It is also the only place in Singapore that can donate plasma platelets.
When I saw the doctor, the doctor asked if I wanted to donate platelets, but it took an hour and a half to two hours, which was too long, although there were TV channels to watch to relieve boredom.
But according to my own observation, the day I came to the blood bank was Sunday, and quite a few blood donors showed up, and everyone was very enthusiastic.
And a lot of them go to donate platelets, roughly seven or three, right?
In the whole blood donation room, there are 20 blood donation chairs. When we go to the blood bank, they only open the range from 1 to 10.
There is also a special treatment for donating blood in the blood bank of the Central Hospital, that is, the food for blood donors here is better.
Donate blood in it, and the nurse will give you iron supplements and food rolls from the snack stall here. With this meal roll, you can pick up your food from the stall outside.
Other blood banks in Singapore are just biscuits, raisins and packaged Milo, here are sandwiches, hot drinks and desserts.
Another difference between donating blood in Singapore and donating blood in Malaysia is that after donating blood, the wrist will be tied with this bright bandage, which seems to be a bit loud to tell others that we are proud blood donors, walking on the road as if windy , huh, what do you think?
I hope to encourage more friends to donate blood together. If you want to know more about other blood banks, please refer to my other articles:
