If the writers are generally divided, and to put it bluntly, I think they can be divided into four types.

In Matt City, I became a creator who "writes what I like to write, and some people are willing to buy it" .

First of all, I would like to state that I do not consider myself a creator . Most of my articles are mainly to express my feelings, and I also write teaching articles, or do some data integration, and some are like weekly or travel journals. Running account, there is no creative component at all. I've written so many subjects that I might try to write a short story later? who knows.

If the writers are generally divided, and to put it bluntly, I think they can be divided into four types.

1. Write what you like to write, and some readers like to read;
2. Write what you like to write, no reader likes to read;
3. In order to cater to the tastes of readers, I write things that I don’t like to write, and some readers like to read them;
4. Write something you don't like to write in order to cater to the reader's taste, and no reader likes to read it.

I think the worst writer should be the fourth type, and I am very fortunate that I should be between the first and second types. As a freshman who has just started writing for more than a year, I already feel very happy that my works are being read.

I recently got the official data provided by Matters. After reading it, I was very surprised. The type of articles I read the most turned out to be political articles. My only Australian working holiday long-form serialization did not even make it into the top ten in all the data, but in fact It's not bad, the purpose of writing that is to keep records for myself, and the update is too slow and the account is too running, so I can't blame others for not watching it. As the saying goes, data doesn't lie, let's take a look.

Effective reading time Top 5

Then look at the five articles with the longest "effective reading time". Three of the five articles are related to politics, and the most read is this "Hong Kong people should not chat with foreigners in the future" . This article was also recommended to the homepage on the "square" side.

Top 5 effective reads

Let’s take a look at the five articles with the most “effectively read times”. This time it is even more exaggerated. Four of the five articles are related to politics, and the article “Hong Kong people should not chat with foreigners in the future” is at the top again. I didn't write this with any special attention, but it was read by the most people, which was really unexpected to me. And "A China in My Eyes" also appeared again.

Top 5 clapping hands

Among the five articles with the highest number of claps, two were about Matt City, and two were about politics. "A China in My Eyes" appeared for the third time and received the most number of claps, far from Forget my other articles. And "I quit naked~:D" ranked second, which also surprised me.

Top 5 comments

"A China in My Eyes" appeared for the fourth time, with the highest number of comments, with 155 times, followed by "I quit naked~:D" with 104 times.

Favorites Top 5

"A China in My Eyes" appeared for the fifth time, with a maximum of 25 collections. The second is the teaching articles of exchanging LikeCoin. The number of practical articles is generally higher, which is not surprising.

Visitor Traffic Top 10

Visitor traffic is the data I am most curious about, because it directly reflects whether my SEO is good or not, and it has a great impact on the exposure of my articles. The most intimate thing about Matters' report is that it has separate channels from different channels. imported traffic.

Visitor traffic from Google

Readers read my article through Google search. The article with the highest visitor traffic was an article about BNO visas. There were as many as 3593 clicks on Google to read my article . It should be that I selected the popular one at that time. The keyword "BNO visa" is used as the theme, and this article is also recommended to the homepage by "square" . Other keywords that have been searched for a long time, such as "Lego", "Bitcoin", "Test Cards", etc. are all on the list.

Visitor traffic from Matters

Readers read my article directly on the Matt City website. The article with the highest visitor traffic is the article about BNO visas , with only 605 traffic, which is six times less than the number of times my article was viewed through Google . It is no wonder that the number of readers who are always in Matt City is limited. Even if the article appears on the homepage of Matt City, only the citizens of Matt City can see it. This proves the importance of using Google to attract traffic. And eight of the ten most trafficked articles are about politics, which I think has something to do with Matt City citizens' preference for political topics.

Total visitor traffic Top 10

The total visitor traffic includes the number of views from all channels, because the number of views through Google has accounted for more than 80%, so it is not surprising that the article about BNO visa ranked first, with a total visitor traffic of 4,261 times. What’s more interesting is that I found that this article has also been channeled through other channels, such as 47 times through Facebook, 11 times through Twitter, and 2 times through Telegram . It turns out that my article was actually shared on these platforms! I can't believe it!

After reading the above data, I found that many people will take the time to read my articles seriously. Although there are not many people who read them seriously, I think this is enough.
