Originally wanted to say whether this is a "reading" category? But in fact, it was just one of the words in the book that aroused some of my memories, not including the review of the book, so as usual, it is still "miscellaneous".

In " Ice Cream for Breakfast ," British author Laura Jane Williams said about "scar":

"Beauty is not the perfection of the face, nor the calmness of the emotions. A scar is more than a wound, even if it cuts deep into the skin. There is a meaning to injury or healing, and beauty is the grace between injury and healing. Balance. The deeper the scar, the more powerful the healing ability.

To live and have scars to prove it - that's the beauty of life.
Every scar is a story.
The scars are like the latitude and longitude of the past, depicting the past life.
Survival is art. Life is also art. Struggle is an art.

This reminds me of a past event: my classmate in the university dormitory is a Kaohsiung girl from the south just like me. She usually walks around in shorts when she's in the dorm in summer, so I didn't think about it too much.

Until one day, I found out that she never seemed to go out in short skirts or shorts, so I asked her, "Would you try wearing shorts or shorts?"

She is petite, has a bright and lively personality, and has good-looking legs. Imagine her wearing shorts and short skirts, and she might transform into a little boy's style, which seems to be full of cuteness. So, without thinking too much, I suggested her.

Unexpectedly, after hearing what I said, she became very gloomy and told me that she would never wear shorts and skirts because there was a scar from a car accident on her leg.

I was stunned at first: where? (I don't usually see it???)

She compares to show me. It's true that the area is a bit large, but in fact, she didn't point it out, and I didn't notice it at all.
Although I really want to tell her that it's okay to mind this kind of thing, the car accident is not your fault. But I was always worried that the other party would retort, "You're not like me, you don't have back pain when you stand and talk," so he silently sank into the water.

Later, I also heard from a school girl that her mother did not allow her to learn to ride a bicycle or a motorcycle, and of course she could not climb trees. The reason: If you get hurt, you will leave scars on your body! It doesn't look good! (The meaning implies that you will not be able to marry )

Even, another friend said to me: You can't be caught by mosquitoes! There will be scars! It's not good to have scars on girls!

(she slaps my hand off every time she sees me grabbing, so I grabbed while she wasn't around XD)

I grew up in the countryside when I was a kid, and my home was surrounded by farmland, with bamboo forests behind the house and a huge drainage ditch (originally a river) in front of the house. My parents are very busy with work, so they usually let me run around, so I usually go out on a bicycle and explore all afternoon, happy and happy.

But after all, it is the countryside, there are many mosquitoes, snakes and rats, and insect bites or small scratches are commonplace. The most common thing to do when I get home every night is to count the number of mosquito bites on my body. I still remember the terrible number: at least 15, and up to 20.

So, not scratching is impossible because it is very itchy. Rather, if you are bitten by mosquitoes, you are not allowed to be caught. What kind of torture is it?

(In "The Chronicles of the Monsters" by Izumi Kyoka, it was mentioned that a samurai took off his concubine, who was suspected of cheating, and hung it in a bamboo forest to be bitten by mosquitoes. This is probably the feeling.)

And unless it is a very serious injury, the scars caused by mosquito bites or falls should be disinfected and applied with medicine, and sun protection should be applied to the recovery logistics to prevent melanin precipitation. Over time, it will fade, and it is not a serious matter.

Furthermore, riding a bicycle or a scooter doesn’t necessarily lead to injuries and scars. I can ride both, but I’ve never fallen. Just keep an eye on the surroundings and drive carefully. There’s no need to give up food because of choking, right?

So, the first time I heard the responses from these peers, I was quite shocked:

Unexpectedly, the Republic of China has liberated women's small feet, but there are still people who use invisible foot-binding cloth to restrict girls from engaging in any outdoor activities! Everything is only to maintain a flawless body to marry! What the hell is this? ? ?

Male upbringing never required such a thing, did it?

"Boys are more lively and naughty." The old grandmother would always say this, and she would not say to her grandson, "Hey, be careful, you will be injured and leave scars, and no woman will want to marry you in the future!" (laughs)

And shouldn't we do the reverse, rejecting guys who will take away a person's character and worth with a scar or two? ? ? ? People will bleed when they are shot, and they will leave scars when they are wounded. It's just a natural phenomenon, not buying a mug or a Barbie, when did it become a symbol of a flawed product? Simply inexplicable.

This reminds me of Princess Eugenia's 2018 wedding, when she bravely opted for a backless wedding dress and calmly revealed her childhood scars from surgery. (Cover image) She's still beautiful, no doubt about it, isn't she?

As the previous quote says: a scar is just a story of struggle. Life is full of struggles and stories.

I hope that my female friends will also see this beautiful photo, let go of those knots in their hearts, bravely put on their favorite clothes, bravely learn those outdoor activities that they have never tried, and live freely and calmly what they want life is just fine! :D
