The prejudice of the Chinese left wing from several articles (1) ACA5 and 209

The 2020 election seems to be coming to an end. Although the Trump team has collected evidence in various swing states to file legal lawsuits, and although there are indeed various frauds and mistakes in this election, it is quite difficult to prove in court that these frauds had a sufficient impact on the general election. A Biden victory, however, is not a Democratic victory. Contrary to the predictions of pollsters and mainstream media, Biden did not win a landslide victory. He only gained enough electoral votes by narrowly winning key swing states in an election full of controversies and accusations of fraud by his opponents. In the important Senate election, the Republican Party still maintains the advantage and will continue to have the majority. In the House of Representatives elections, the Democratic Party's electoral performance was also not as good as expected, and the retained majority advantage was not expanded but weakened. Some observers see this as a personal failure for Trump and a success for Trumpism. In other words, America will continue to be divided.

With a little common sense, most people who are not seriously distorted by their position will agree with the assertion that Trump is the symbol of America's division, not the source of it. What is the source of the division? While the mainstream media and the left continue to repeatedly broadcast "America Divided", they rarely do the deepest research and discuss solutions. They don't understand why the people on the other side make different choices, so they blame everything on the influence of fake news, but they don't know that they are the ones who master the media and can control the flow of information. They loudly accuse the opposite crowd of extreme prejudice and hatred, and use every word to humiliate and ridicule them, but they do not know that they themselves have already fallen into the quagmire of prejudice and hatred. It is these people, driven by arrogance and prejudice, who want to impose their ideas on others, and divide the country in two. A few days ago, a Matters user showed some Sichuan fans' remarks and added some mocking comments next to them, saying that they wanted to make a comedy effect. But the rhetoric shown was too commonplace to be suitable for comedy material at all. Good stuff: Hateful and prejudiced crowds vowing to eradicate the hatred and prejudice of others, and they know nothing about their own situation.

209 and ACA5

California Bill 209, passed in 1996, aims to give all ethnic groups equal rights, guarantee fair opportunities, and prohibit the government from considering gender and race factors in the admission and signing of public education and public services. This epoch-making act coincides with the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

(i) Everyone has the right to education, and education should be free, at least at the primary and basic stages. Primary education should be compulsory. Technical and vocational education should be established universally. Higher education should be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.

It is hard to believe, however, that this bill, which guarantees basic human rights, is under constant attack from the left in California. First, in 2011, bill SB185 was proposed, requiring college admissions to take into account race and gender to the greatest extent possible within the 14th Amendment. After being rejected, it made a comeback in 2014 and proposed SCA5 to remove the content of higher education in Act 209. The proposal was shelved after strong backlash from the Chinese-American community. And this year, a similar motion was proposed again, namely ACA5, to remove the entire content of Act 209.

If this proposal, which attempts to eliminate equal opportunities and suppress human rights, is passed, Asians, especially Chinese, will be the first victims. Asians make up less than 15% of the population in California, but they make up far more in colleges (such as 35% at the University of California). If ethnicity is factored into the consideration of college admissions, it is conceivable that the proportion of Asians and the admission rate will be forced to decline. For this reason, Chinese parents who attached great importance to the education of the next generation and had long been politically apathetic were forced to stand up and hurriedly organized a boycott. They made all kinds of slogans and put up placards on street corners. They started a car march in protest. They also united various ethnic groups to form the California Equal Rights Commission CFER Alliance, and invited Ward Connery, the promoter of the 209 Act, to defend this human rights achievement.

Their opponents are far stronger than them. Proponents of Bill 16 have donated $20.39 million, nearly 14 times the $1.5 million donated by opponents of CFER. Major corporations and organizations support Bill 16, and the mainstream media is active in propaganda and incidentally smearing opponents as racist. The Democrats fully supported the proposal, and both the vice presidential candidate Harris and the governor of California endorsed it. The founders of Black Lives Matter BLM also expressed support for the proposal. It was a showdown of disparity in power, so disparate that many people (including me) gave up tracking because they believed they would lose. But what I didn't expect was that this group of people who had been considered "incapable of political action" for a long time actually won a miraculous victory, rejecting the proposal with 56:43.9! This victory is closely related to gaining the support of other ethnic groups, including the black ethnic group, and it is precisely because of this that their victory is moving. How do they take advantage of affirmative action?

A pivotal moment that led to the emergence of the new right-wing Chinese American in the United States was the California Senate's 5th Constitutional Amendment (SCA-5) in 2014. The bill plans to restore affirmative action in higher education.

They first called the proposal to repeal affirmative action "affirmative action", and then claimed that the new Chinese right wing used it to spread rumors and fear among the Chinese community.

Still, disinformation spreads throughout the Chinese-American community. Conservative Chinese-Americans also joined forces to protest affirmative action.

Chinese political awakening and organized boycotts are believed to have gathered because of fake news.

Right-wing Chinese Americans have used this advantage to organize the masses and use extreme methods to oppose SCA-5, such as leading hundreds of protests and taking direct action against senators, many of whom are Asian, who support the bill.

And leading hundreds of people to protest against senators, a common political protest, is seen as an extreme method of right-wing Chinese Americans.

This Chinese left-wing organization did not directly defend the ACA5 Act, but accused the Chinese people of being inspired by rumors and unable to tell the truth. As for what is the truth, it is naturally up to the left wing to have the final say. Only doing propaganda and avoiding debate is an important feature of some Chinese leftists. This is because in the left wing, the white western left wing has absolute discourse power and influence despite its small number. The Chinese left wing, as the party whose values are exported, often become their translators and repeaters. The terms they use, the theories they use, and even the models of the movement are all influenced by the white left wing of the West or simply mechanically applied. These things from the western white left wing are repeatedly broadcast in the Chinese-speaking circle by them, but they themselves rarely produce independent knowledge and opinions. Because of this, Chinese leftists who do not have or are unable to produce independent views have no ability to defend their views, and escaping the debate and re-reading the propaganda has become the best strategy.

Although the Chinese left wing has no defense capacity, the left wing still has a set of arguments. Their reason for supporting Proposition 16 is the old-fashioned systemic discrimination that requires resources to be targeted to specific races. This old discourse does not stand the test here. because

1 Even the existence of systemic discrimination should be compensated by the group that produces it. The Chinese are not only the ethnic groups who are systematically discriminated against, but they are the victims. Compensation should not be made by Asians and Chinese.

2 Even if there is systemic discrimination, the fair solution is to invest in basic education to eliminate systemic discrimination, rather than directly tilting the outcome to one side, replacing old inequalities with new ones. The higher percentage of Asians than ethnic groups in colleges is not the result of their natural talents but the result of their families and individuals investing a lot of resources and time. Including ethnic factors in the results is extremely unfair to them and violates basic human rights.

Based on these two points, I think that the Chinese struggle against racism in the education system has a high level of legitimacy, and their efforts should be recognized and congratulated, not humiliated and blamed. The Chinese leftists should reflect on their position on this issue, and strive to be a repeater with certain auditing functions rather than a simple audio repeater.
