Art can never be independent of politics. If you say that politics belongs to politics and art belongs to art, it may be a misunderstanding of the real world.

But from now on, art may be more powerful than imagined.

Such NFTs can not only fight against bubbles, but also against power.

On February 24th, Russia invaded Ukraine, and major art NFT platforms began to be dyed blue and yellow. The works of these artists were all in solidarity with Ukraine. The Ukrainian flag flew for a while, which can be said to be the Lennon Wall of the Metaverse.

Moreover, the actions of these artists are not just social platforms in the web2 era. It is as simple as writing articles and changing head posts. These works of art capture the value of public welfare, and a brand new fundraising market has emerged, and these sound money directly help organizations in need, which can be completed at the click of a button.

And it's very simple to do.

I could not have imagined last week that buying NFTs could also help Ukraine.

(Because I am familiar with the Tezos blockchain, the following cases are mainly based on Tezos,
Other blockchains I believe the same thing is happening)

If you want to support Ukraine, you can do three things:

1. Donate directly in cryptocurrency
2. Buy works by Ukrainian artists
3. Collection of NFT works with set profit distribution to Ukrainian non-profit organizations

Regarding the first kind of help, there have been quite a few friends posting cryptocurrency donation records on my Facebook dynamic wall in the past two days. As a proof of solidarity, I am very moved. But today I want to share the last trick - a collection of NFT works with set profit sharing to Ukrainian non-profit organizations.

As far as I know, Taiwanese artists, Aluan Wang , Jinyao Lin , Lin Yiwen, Huang Yaozin , Ann Chou , Rou-Pin Huang , Fagem , and Wang Yanxiang have their own actions.

I would like to emphasize that in the past era, it was impossible for so many Taiwanese artists to stand up and support the anti-war movement far away in just three days. This is the advantage of being agile in a decentralized world.

Smart contracts in the cryptocurrency world have the characteristics of financial Lego.

Formed, everyone can go a long way as long as they take a small step forward.

Taking Aran as an example, he revised the previously well-known generative art work "Chaos Research" and added Ukrainian colors to become the new "🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦" work. In this work, there is a mysterious address "KT1...3HEx" in the co-creator field. This address will point to a smart contract, and the terminal of the contract will lead to 7 non-profit organizations that help Ukraine.

Therefore, as long as you collect Aran's new works, 99% of the money will directly help Ukraine. In the middle, the exchange problem of a bunch of traditional fiat currencies is eliminated, and you don't even have to worry about Paypal not swiping cards.

For collectors, it is really just a click of a finger, you can complete the donation, in addition, you can also get the works of Aran at a very low price, which is the best of both worlds.

The above smooth user experience is constructed under four basic elements, and none of them are indispensable.

1. Artists are willing to release works so collectors can buy them and make public donations
2. The issuance platform supports automatic profit distribution, so that donations can be automatically pooled
3. A trusted person initiates a contract address so that donations can be imported
4. Nonprofits accept cryptocurrency donations

Every step just depends on the maturity of cryptocurrency technology in the past two years. This Tezos account generated nearly 8,000 donations in three days and raised $50,000. Buying NFTs and backing the values you believe in, couldn't be better.

1. Artists

For the artist, he does not need to understand the details of the smart contract, he only needs to know the platform he usually uses, support collaboration (co-creation), and paste the donation address to the role of the co-creator to make donations. And artists only need to focus on what they do best—creation, and they can do good things.

2. Platform

Currently, in the Tezos world, the four platforms of Versum, TEIA, Fxhash, and AkaSwap all support the automatic profit sharing function. Therefore, on these three platforms, any creator can carry out public welfare actions. The best part is that different platforms can use the same non-profit payment address. In another scenario, you can buy Coke at Xiaoqi, or you can buy Coke at the whole family. If these Cokes are guaranteed to be donated to the Obesity Research Foundation, no matter where they are consumed, they will help prevent obesity.

3. Special account for donations

Why the above point is so important, we must look at the third point, "trusted people initiate contract addresses, so that donations can be imported", in the Tezos world, this string of addresses was initiated by Veqtor, the founder of Versum, and everyone believes in Veqtor . Veqtor was a core contributor to the early Hic Et Nunc platform, and later left to establish a new NFT platform Versum, while TEIA is another HEN-based new platform, Fxhash is an open generative art platform, and AkaSwap is Taiwan's Tezos NFT platform.

Artists can make this string of donation addresses become co-creators and get the vast majority of public welfare profits without the permission of Veqtor or any platform. And these platform parties have joined together to help promote the fundraising activities initiated by Veqtor.

4. Non-profit organizations

Finally, non-profit organizations accept cryptocurrency donations. It seems that these seven organizations with different goals have used the “The Giving Block” cryptocurrency fundraising platform to accept donations, namely “save the children”, “international medical corps” , "direct relief", "CARE", "project HOPE", "CPJ", "OutRight Action International", although the detailed distribution mechanism is currently uncertain, the contracts initiated by Veqtor can be publicly accessed on the chain. There will be some kind of grant organization in the future to reach consensus on donations.

Every small sum of money will eventually come together into a big stream. I just collect very cheap art (but its value may be much more than that), and I can support the value of my beliefs together. I am very grateful to be born in this era.

This is no longer the link between nationalism and art, it is a higher level of value action. I just watched the documentary "Revolution of the Times", and today I must write down the whole thing.
