At that time, President Jiang Gong said to Zhou Shukai, "Be prepared for the worst." He then went to the United Nations for an appointment to attend the 1976th Plenary Session of the United Nations to vote on "restoring the legitimate rights of the People's Republic of China in the United Nations." Although the United Arab Emirates and the United States supported our country to increase time, they failed. At the moment before the vote, Zhou Shukai stepped onto the podium and announced that the Republic of China would withdraw from the United Nations.

He then went to the United Nations for an appointment to attend the 1976th Plenary Session of the United Nations to vote on "restoring the legitimate rights of the People's Republic of China in the United Nations." Although the United Arab Emirates and the United States supported our country to increase time, they failed. At the moment before the vote, Zhou Shukai stepped onto the podium and announced that the Republic of China would withdraw from the United Nations.

Although after this, although according to the voting results, the Republic of China must withdraw from the United Nations, I think it was a wrong decision not to participate in that vote with all its might. Maybe there are some countries that wanted to help you in the voting, but they all announced their withdrawal, so the vote seems to be meaningless. Therefore, they abstained from voting or expressed solidarity with the People's Republic of China to facilitate the establishment of diplomatic relations with "China" in the future... Therefore, the final vote ended with 76 in favor, 35 against, and 17 abstentions.

Even after so many years, there is still a lot of discussion about this matter, and there are even more different opinions on the reasons for withdrawing. Some people say that they decided to withdraw on their own in order to save the face of the country and not to appear to be "kicked out"; others say that they decided to withdraw on their own because they were concerned about the situation at the United Nations. I was dissatisfied and quit in anger... The truth of this incident was blurred, and I couldn't even grasp that the process in this letter was correct.

Before the vote at the General Assembly, President Chiang Kai-shek was even willing to endure the humiliation of "one China, one Taiwan" in order to continue to stay in the United Nations, just to allow the government to survive independently. However, after withdrawing from the United Nations, anyone who has established diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China will We are about to sever diplomatic relations with our country. Why can’t we bear it now? If a country is willing to establish diplomatic relations with the two parties based on the political stance of one China, one Taiwan, or even two Chinas, wouldn't it be better in the overall situation?

In short, I hope that the Republic of China will continue to exist as a sovereign government and shine in the international community
