The job-hunting dilemma of graduating from the history department will become a topic of discussion on the Internet every once in a while. In the past two days, another netizen who has been studying for two years, decided to suspend his studies for a job, but was madly hit a wall, and was also considered useless by his family members. The famous supplementary teacher with a history background and YOUTUBER exchanged fire.

I myself have heard about the development of many younger brothers and sisters who went to school after graduation. Many of them went to public schools or cultural and educational institutions (museums, foundations, supplementary education, etc.) , There are also people who went to start a business to open a board game store, in short, anyone who changed any runway has heard of it.

In addition, it is not uncommon for people to become freelancers. For example, the avant-garde Publishing House recently released a small book called "Minus 68 Degrees: The Experience of Taiwanese Siberian Prisoners of War after World War II". The author, Chen Lihang, went to Japan to study at Tohoku University. I decided to drop out of school to become a freelance researcher. Chen’s wife is my junior sister. Both of them are freelance researchers, and both of them are helping several media to write articles about Lippo.

When it comes to freelance work, I am actually doing it right now. The academic jobs I did after graduation were only temporary; I also tried to use what I learned in the past to write articles that made love generate electricity, from Medium, Fangzi to Matt City, and accumulated some Likes; because writing is not helpful in life The articles written by me are gradually invited by the media and reprinted, and I get a little manuscript fee, as well as announcement and speech fees. In recent years, I have participated in the small paper review work of the gifted class of high school Human Resources and Social Security, and I also have manuscript fees; Fu, a former colleague, took over two high school history tutor students.

The mode of labor is very sporadic, and the income is very fragmented. Since the next step is to do it well, I think this is work. If you do, you will have more opportunities, if you don't do it, you will have no chance. If it weren't for the power of love, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to absorb the knowledge of cryptocurrency with everyone in Matt City, learn how to like, commission, mine, or the airdrop I got a few days ago.

As for those who are struggling to find jobs in the north of the low card, the inside story should not be as simple as reading the history department. Perhaps the parents of this miserable master have too narrow a definition of work and the imagination of the workplace, which is also one of the reasons for his predicament.

Why do I say this, because I have been in a state of "atypical employment" since graduating from college, and I have been challenging my parents' values for job hunting. To my parents, what occupations would a girl have to be in to be considered a "no-compromise job"? There are probably several necessary and secondary conditions.

First, the necessary conditions are probably:

  • I have to sit in the office at work, and the time is 9 to 5 (recently because of WFH, I have not insisted much)
  • There must be a stable system and employee benefits (labor health insurance, company-specified salary, bonus, vacation, etc.)
  • Don't work overtime too often, or too many social gatherings that cost money
  • There must be a fixed fee for filial piety to take home (this point is not explicitly stated, but it is implied intentionally or not)

Second, the secondary conditions are probably:

  • To be an employee within the establishment, contract dispatch should be avoided as much as possible.
  • The workplaces that girls are expected to enter are, in order: 1. Public education departments; 2. Company numbers that can be called by name; 3. Private small and medium-sized enterprises
  • The positions that girls are expected to take are preferably school teachers (stable), special assistants/secretaries (have the opportunity to become phoenixes), supplementary teachers (preferably teaching English), flight attendants (glamorous and high-paying)
  • It's best to get to know the ideal marriage partner in the workplace, you have the opportunity to knock them down, or they have the opportunity to knock you down

In the past, whenever my parents found out that I had a job that satisfies the above-mentioned "required conditions", the first sentence asked: "Is it "official" ?", which means asking me if I am an employee in the establishment. For example, after graduating from a master's degree, because there is a I plan to continue reading. Under the research plan of a professor at National Taiwan University, I have worked as a full-time assistant for more than two years and can work on the campus of National Taiwan University. My mother's eyes suddenly lit up, but when he knew that this job was only a contract Hire, that face will collapse.

Even if it is not within the establishment, a job like a full-time planning assistant still has a fixed salary, system and benefits. That is one of the few periods in my career that can be considered a typical employment period. In addition to the annual end of the year, which is in the early 20,000s, I take it. After that, it will be handed over to the old lady, so he will not stay north all the time about the matter of "contracting and hiring". To put it bluntly, in fact, money is doing the trick.

However, after I started my Ph.D. program, I took on a teaching and research assistant, a teaching assistant, or the teacher's science and technology department as a program assistant, and even applied for a doctoral research grant from the Academia Sinica for a while (this grant stipulates that there can be no other leading postgraduates). Income from a part-time job), around life-wasting conversations such as "this is work" and "your that is not work", when parents' mouths are itchy, they will take it out and go to the north.

For example, when I received a doctoral student award, I received a sum of money every month to study hard for the research plan I proposed at the beginning. What are you doing! When he learned that the application was approved, he was too happy to talk, but when his mother found out, he said disappointedly:

But this is not a job, I thought you were going to have a formal job at Academia Sinica

I explained to him several times the nature of this award and the obligations I have to perform to receive this award. It is also a job. My mother still kept saying infinite loops:

But this is not a job, I thought you were going to have a formal job at Academia Sinica

stop whining Oh! Because there was no intersection at all, I had to force the end of this meaningless conversation and tell him to shut up and stop jumping stitches.

I thought that over the years, because the definition and expectations of work were different, the two sides had caused quarrels and conflicts, and even I had strictly prohibited him from inquiring about my work, and I would let my mother learn to be obedient. Who knows, last month, his mouth started to itch again. I am not working.

My answer to my wife is that I do not have those "jobs" defined by him, but it does not mean that I have nothing to do, and it is not that I have no income at all. However, he returned to the above-mentioned state of jumping needles, saying that he is so unstable, you are not married and have no children, what will you do in the future?

In the afternoon, because I had to return to the clinic, the doctor was about to close at 4:30, but I was still in a state of being restrained and could not take a step out of the house, so I had to stop it again with a strong tone:

Are you finished yet? For decades, this matter with Lu Lu has been going on with me. Are you happy if you have to waste each other's lives? Anyway, I can't change your thinking, and you can't change my approach. Does it make sense to continue to struggle with "what is work?" Everyone doesn't know how many years they can live, and accidents may come before tomorrow. Isn't it bad to live a healthy physical and mental life? You have to strictly pursue the life of "what is work", twist yourself and twist the next generation, you are a psychopath! The hospital is about to close. Excuse me if I delay seeing a doctor, are you responsible?

Poverty will limit imagination, and the definition of work and the imagination of the workplace of the previous generation will often limit the career development of the next generation. Personally, I have been trying to solve such a dilemma, but others may not be able to perceive the problem. The bitter master who dropped out of Shi Bo in the low-card discussion, I think it may be the latter.

It was said that every time I quarreled with the idiots at home, my emotions would take a day or two to calm down. Before that, I couldn't let Ai generate electricity. I opened the draft box in Matt City, but I couldn't write a word. In this world, people who live seriously and make money in various ways without stealing or stealing will be judged by perverts with narrow work and workplace imaginations. They are also seeking life, and no one is really more noble.
