Netherlands 2017 | Rotterdam | Architect's Paradise Markthal Eats Raw Herring
Around Rotterdam Blaak Station: Cube House, Pencil House, Rotterdam Public Library, Markthal Market
As soon as I walked out of Rotterdam's Blaak station, the cube house and the pencil house came into view. I didn't go in, but I took a lot of photos outside. The yellow of the cube house formed a sharp contrast with the blue sky.
Eating raw herring at Markthal market
Next to Blaak station is a very modern and modern building - Markthal market. This is the first time in my life that I have visited such a magnificent market, which is much better than the Mercado San Miguel in Madrid. ! ! . This is the second time I came to the Netherlands, but I have never eaten raw herring (English: Soused herring, Dutch: Haring), which is said to be a must-eat in the Netherlands. I came to the market in Rotterdam to eat seafood. There are a lot of stalls, and they are quite clean, there is no smell, some stores also have a restaurant section, you can cook on the spot, I finally got my wish to eat raw herring! In short, I want to eat raw herring in the morning. I went to several roadside stalls in Amsterdam, and they all close early, and the restaurants seem to be unable to order this dish.
Before tasting raw herring, I was also looking forward to it and was afraid of being hurt. The feeling of eating it is a little bit more regenerated than Japanese sashimi. I can understand why some people dare not eat it, just like I dare not eat raw oysters, but many people love it. , The fat and salty aroma of raw herring with onion is a wonderful and perfect fusion. After eating one stall, I felt unsatisfied, and went to another stall to eat a second time XD, I started to feel a little tired after eating the second one, but I don't want to go to the UK now that I think the Netherlands is delicious! (The itinerary will go to the UK later)
Kralingse Bos Park
After a full meal, I went to Kralingse Bos Park, a scenic spot recommended by a friend who works in the Netherlands. This park has a beautiful scenery. The sun angle in Europe is relatively oblique. The colors reflected by the sky, lake water and grass are very soft and dreamy. I sat in the park for a whole afternoon, enjoying the leisurely and peaceful atmosphere. Many local residents brought their pets to sit on the grass and let the wind blow. I immediately understood the importance that Europeans place on urban green space. A place like this where you can forget about your worries.
Erasmusbrug
The Erasmus Bridge, also known as the Swan Bridge, was completed in 1996 by architect Ben van Berkel. It not only realized the function of the building, but also created a work of art in the history of architecture. This cable-stayed bridge connects the south and north of Rotterdam. The asymmetrical pylons of the bridge are like swans leading their necks to the sky, and the huge steel cables arranged on both sides are like unfolded swan wings. The shape is extremely unique and beautiful.
Erasmusbrug is also the boating point for the Waterbus to Kinderdijk. It departs from Rotterdam and takes about 30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased as follows:
- Buy tickets on board (8 euros round trip)
- Online booking (e-ticket return €7,60)
- Swipe OV card (one way 3.63 euros)
- You can take the Waterbus with the One Day Tourist Ticket, but Waterbus itself does not sell this ticket. The Tourist Day Ticket is priced at €13.50, which allows you to travel unlimitedly in the south of the Netherlands in a single day

However, I have been to Zaanse Schans to see the windmills, and I have not been to Kinderdijk. My friends have been there and told me that it is normal, and I will consider visiting the Netherlands when I have the opportunity.
Due to the high latitude in Europe, the sunset process is very long. That day, I sat by the river and watched the sunset for a long time. I also took pictures of many intoxicating scenery. I haven’t seen such a beautiful sunset for a long time. I feel very fulfilled. When I travel by myself in Europe, I am often reluctant to eat when there is still sunshine, so I often eat dinner after eight or nine o'clock XD
I went to the restaurant in Hotel New York for dinner, the outdoor seating can watch the twilight of the pier. At that time, I thought, ah~ I can only enjoy such a great dinner. It's a pity XD Because I like Rotterdam so much, it's almost 10 years after dinner. Come on, I almost ran out of cars to go back to Amsterdam XD
I deeply feel that my evaluation of a place has a lot to do with the interaction with people and the food in the place. I like the Netherlands and I often recall the Netherlands because the customs and customs of all parts of the Netherlands are in line with my magnetic field. , whether in the city or in the countryside, plus eating delicious food, and having warm memories here with people who have met on the journey [Note].
[Note] Another article mentioned going to Ireland to participate in a local tour, and I met a very caring and warm American friend who happened to be studying in Amsterdam at the time, so when I left Ireland and went to the Netherlands, I met him again and felt that Very lucky and happy.
