Whether the translation of "Paralympic" is appropriate has recently been discussed in Hong Kong. Some people believe that the word Paralympic does not have the meaning of physical and mental disabilities, and it is only interpreted as a sports event that is parallel to the Olympic Games. Therefore, Hong Kong's translation of "Paralympic" as a name is discriminatory, and it is recommended to change the name.
Paralympic Games, except Taiwan which is transliterated as "Paralympic Games", other regions are called "Paralympic Games".

Hearing these voices, I wonder if you are like me, suddenly curious.

I really want to know, if you want to change the name, do you think that "Paralympics" cannot be translated into the essence of the original text, or do you think that the use of the word "disabled" is discriminatory?

If it is the latter, then I would like to ask a question, are the words "tall", "short", "fat" and "thin" discriminatory?

Tall, short, fat and thin, in fact, only distinguish, not derogatory.

Unless, you criticize other people's height, fat and thinness.

"Fat, you're wearing shorts?"

"It's so thin that it's like a branch of bamboo, and it's close to the edge?"

"I was born so short, and I played basketball!"

"As soon as the fir trees are so tall, you can easily change the bulb."

do you understand?

"Remaining" is the same thing.

Eliminating discrimination, most importantly, starts from the heart.
