The question to ask is "is it suitable", not "is it good?"

We often use "good or bad" as the basis for our choices, but we should use "suitable" as the standard. The following are some of my experiences in life.

Two days ago, I heard my colleagues in the company chatting. Colleague A asked Colleague B: That XXX is so good, he became a supervisor at a young age, do you know what school and department he studied in college? I'm going to let my kids read that in the future too!

Such conversations are actually all around us. My inner OS right now is: The path that that excellent colleague takes may be a good one, but it may not be suitable for your child? Did you first understand what kind of personality your child is, what interests, and what ideas for the future?

Going back to myself, my previous job was in the e-commerce industry. After working in the traditional industry for almost 10 years, I jumped so far to a completely different rhythm and pace of the e-commerce industry. The results at that time were indeed not very good. ideal. After leaving that job, I also thought carefully about why there was such a result.

At that time, I had just returned to Taiwan from a permanent residency in China, and a good friend happened to know about this opportunity and tried his best to recommend me to try this job.

I was quite hesitant at first, after all, this field is completely different from what I am familiar with and good at.

But when the epidemic just started, everything seemed unpredictable, and I was worried about what would happen if I continued to wait, so I persuaded myself to keep up with the times and try these innovative industries.

However, I was really unprepared. Whether it was mentality or ability, it was completely unable to match the needs of the job at that time.

It was a really good job opportunity, but for me, it was totally unsuitable. Even though he tried hard to catch up, he was disheartened in the end, and even began to lose confidence in himself. It took nearly half a year to slowly regain his confidence.

To give another example: Since I was in the tire industry before, I was in charge of product planning. So some friends will ask me, which tire is better?

Every time I hear this kind of question, I will first ask: what kind of car are you driving? What performance are you looking for? How are your driving habits?

But often after asking this question, many people lose interest and feel that I may start to talk about a lot of technical questions. However, I believe that many people often just want to get a simple answer, who is better? Which brand is better? Which product is better? Which restaurant is better?

But if you don't know what you want to pursue, you will often choose people or things or items that are not suitable for you, and finally start complaining, which is not suitable for you at all.

The comfortable and quiet experience that I really wanted to pursue when driving by myself ended up buying a tire with first-class evaluation on the forum and super good sports performance, but with good road feedback and noisy tires.

What I am really suitable for is a partner who can accompany me to have a heart-to-heart chat. As a result, I have a good-looking person who values the beauty of taking pictures more than heart-to-heart.

I wanted to earn a fixed income of 5~6% every year, but after listening to the advice of an investment advisor, I bought a soaring stock whose stock price fluctuated so much that I couldn’t sleep peacefully every day.

Whether you're shopping for something or making a decision, even if the item or option seems great, ask yourself: Is this right for me?

No matter how cost-effective the product is, if it is not suitable for my use, it is like garbage to me.

No matter how good the conditions are, if the personalities are not compatible, for me, ten minutes of getting along with each other is a kind of torture.

No matter how good the salary and environment are, if it is not a field suitable for you, going to work every day is like going to hell.

Choose what is right for you, not what is better!
