Can artificial intelligence recognize the "fingerprint of coffee"? It's so awesome~

ProfilePrint , a Singapore-based food ingredient fingerprinting startup, has completed a Series A funding round involving a number of multinational companies with a significant interest in coffee. Let's take a look at the uses of "coffee fingerprints"!

ProfilePrint applies artificial intelligence (AI) technology to digital fingerprinting and assessment of food ingredients. The company provides an ingredient search platform that promises ingredient traceability, as well as potential operational efficiencies throughout the transaction process.

ProfilePrint enables sellers and buyers to objectively determine the agreed-upon quality of food ingredients in online transactions, saving time and money by eliminating the tedious process of sending samples for physical inspection.

To put it simply, if a buyer wants to buy geisha coffee beans, the third-party ProfilePrint can identify the authenticity and quality of the coffee and ensure that they are buying real geisha coffee beans. Of course, this technique is not only used for coffee, but also for identifying tea, cocoa, grains, spices...even non-organic materials.

Although ProfilePrint did not disclose the amount of this round of financing, ProfilePrint received a seven-figure dollar financing as early as last January. And, current investors include global food giant Louis Dreyfus Company, Olam Food Ingredients (which includes Olam's global coffee division), global coffee trader Sucafina, Singapore-based venture capital fund Greenwillow Capital Management and Japan-based Real Tech Global Fund.

ProfilePrint said the new investment will be used to expand its workforce, develop research and development and further expand its international business. At present, ProfilePrint's customers are located in Singapore, Europe, Africa, Latin America, China, Japan, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. It is believed that this AI food ingredient fingerprint recognition technology will be very useful in the future.
