PFP is the abbreviation of Profile Picture NFT, which usually refers to a limited-edition portrait NFT series (also called a project). Perhaps PFP is also the reason why the public knows NFTs. After all, in the past few months, the spectacle-like news has continued to appear, "A certain NFT auction transaction price is tens of millions of dollars", "A certain elementary school student gets rich by NFT", etc. Most of the NFT mentioned in these news It is PFP, I believe some people think that NFT is PFP.

"Will NFTs Bubble?"

People who ask this question are almost directed at PFP. On this subject, I think Daniel Tenner's (swombat) twitter tweet is very well written, providing a direct link , here's a short summary.

The author's argument is simple,
1. NFT is a kind of entrepreneurial project without consumers
2. NFT without utility is a kind of capital disk
3. In a broad sense, any commodity without practicality is a capital disk
4. How to give meaning to NFT requires careful planning
5. The meaning can be: community, information, but not more money
6. Otherwise it's just more layers of Ponzi schemes

Going back and sharing my collection of PFPs, these PFPs have other deeper meanings besides the images themselves, which have a special meaning for me:

1) Crypto refried beans?

Without this PFP project, I made it myself to have fun. When I didn’t know PFP very well, I couldn’t afford expensive portraits. I could do it myself. I have made four kinds of them before and after, and I don’t plan to release them in the future. Probably really nothing.

2) Travelogger from Matters

Mainly create valuable PFP issued by Matters, this number 547 is Confused Individualistic Sasha (Саша Defender), which is an airdrop obtained by me participating in the community and writing articles; at the same time as this PFP series is released, the Matters community is Carry on the Matt Universe Story Solitaire. The whole project is a series of attempts to connect with the community.

With this PFP, the Matters account will be linked, and a small icon will appear on the name of the personal homepage as proof of possession. At this level, holding PFP can be regarded as a member of the community, and this community is an existing online community, because the previous efforts (Proof of Work) receive airdrops of rewards, plus new friends who agree with the concept.

In addition, this PFP will activate the function of the Travellogger logbook , and each PFP will be able to open an encrypted file and leave text on it. The following text records Matters built their own exchange platform for this purpose, probably to reduce the cost of handling fees and encourage transactions. Although I don't know what the gameplay will be, it's exciting.

Besides, what I'm most looking forward to is actually two months later, "Travelloggers owners will get the next large NFT project "The Space" airdrop. It is understood that this will be a very radical experiment on the Internet and shared wealth. . So I'm going to hold on to this PFP.

Finally, I know that Matters is developing towards a DAO (Decentralized Governance Organization) in the long run, and holders may receive an airdrop of governance tokens in 2022. Who knows? There are too many projects to brag about governance tokens in the past few months, and the cold community leads to invalid tokens. I myself really like Matters' current operations team and user community, so no matter what, I'll hold it until the day the DAO comes.

3) Tez Dozen

Tez Dozen is a PFP project jointly launched by Teacher Chuan Beimu and Teacher Aran Wang Xinren. It will issue 3360 animal portraits of the zodiac in illustration style. Currently, the mouse has been launched. This project is released on the AkaSwap platform. I wanted to say that no one knows about it. It should be a good buy, right? It turned out to be bloody on Tuesday night and almost impossible to buy. I hope that when it is released at midnight every Tuesday, it will not be so grabby (so I won't post the link).

In addition to my love of Chuanbei's style of painting (it's really cute), holding Tez Dozen NFT will continue to get AkaDAO (it seems to be the governance token or service token that will be used after AkaSwap) until five Years later, it will be some kind of token mining. Although AkaSwap has always been ambiguous about how DAO operates and how tokens are used, I believe that AkaSwap's art director, Aran, is convinced even if AkaSwap abandons him.

In addition, AkaSwap is one of the few NFT collection platforms in Taiwan that I think perfectly fits with Web3. Although more than 1,000 NFTs have been minted (the new national flag is No. 223) , the scale is not large, but I like Tezos very much. 4) Distributed Consciousness

Finally, the project that deeply shocked my heart is the new PFP work Distributed Consciousness launched by the Turkish-born London-based technology artist Memo Akten . This project was released last month. There are a total of 256 octopuses in one edition, and 16 octopuses are auctioned every day. 16 days. Strictly speaking, these octopuses are not necessarily PFP. In fact, they are closer to fine art. These octopuses are created by Memo with Generative Adversarial Network (GAN), and use different objects to create an octopus system that is connected to everything in the world. This octopus was my first NFT that spent more than NT$10,000, and it has since gone to a point of no return.

Although I knew from the beginning that Memo would launch related works after the release of octopus, the work launched two days ago completely hit my heart, an NFT named Verse (Psalm) corresponding to 256 octopuses. Memo hides the articles in the octopus from the beginning, and he uses these articles to make poems using natural language processing (NLP), and the trained model uses GPT-3. The psalm itself presents a gem, and the corresponding number reflects the octopus deity. The gem itself can speak and speak the sentences trained by GPT-3.

But the Psalm NFT adopts the first win first (086 is still released at 4:00 in the morning), I really can't win, but fortunately the account that wins is flipper, I just want to earn the price difference, I am also happy to buy this use in the secondary market With GAN, NLP and other technologies as creative tools, this will definitely become a line of art history.

I absolutely love this series. Thanks to the Tezos blockchain, if today is the traditional art market, or the NFT market of Ethereum, it must be unaffordable according to my financial resources.

After sharing my recent collection, I have always thought that " NFT is me ". The artworks, works, clothing, friends, work, and family more or less represent who you are in your hands, and NFT has established This thing is fundamental in the Web3 world because it's scarce, fluid, and optional.

The PFPs I hold all represent the value I agree with. Even if the team I love finally disappears, I still hold these NFTs. This is who I am and the value I am willing to share.

Finally, from now on, it will only become more and more difficult to release PFP projects. Look at the efforts of the above PFP projects. PFP is not just a picture file, it represents the past or future community and services.
