On the third night, my throat started to itch and cough. I decided to do another test. The result was less than 1 minute before the second line appeared. Although it was superficial, it also announced that I was diagnosed!

I have been considering whether to write this story, and finally decided to write it in front of a life record!

I was diagnosed with the new crown on March 24 some time ago! After more than two years of prevention, in the end, it was unable to escape the highly infectious mutant virus "Omicron".

It was my mother who was diagnosed first at home. The day was March 21. My mother was coughing. My sister heard a different sound from the usual mother’s occasional cough. She used the antigen rapid test kit to test at home, and the result showed two lines. . My sister immediately informed me at work.

I immediately reported to my boss and my colleagues in the personnel department that the company's policy is that asymptomatic close people need to be quarantined for 5 days. I will go home from get off work immediately, and the quarantine day will officially begin. On the way home, I was worried that I might also be infected by my mother, because I have the most contact with my mother at home.

As soon as I got home, my sister, who had already put on a face mask, saw me and said, "Brother, you are a little dangerous because you are the closest to my mother." It made my heart skip a beat.

The latest policy in Malaysia is that if the confirmed person has only mild symptoms, the test report will be uploaded to an official new crown APP: MYSEJAHTERA, and you will receive an electronic certificate of 7-day quarantine, and then fill in the information in the app every morning and noon. health condition.

The mother only has a slight cough and a little cold, and belongs to the first and second levels, so she is allowed to isolate at home, and if it is a third to fifth level patient, she needs to be hospitalized.

For close contacts, if they have no symptoms, they only need to use the antigen rapid test kit to test at home on the first and second days. If the result is negative, they do not need to be isolated at all, and they can walk to work and class freely.

My sister and father were tested on the same day, and they were negative. I also tested negative after I got home.

After I got home, my sister went out to buy medicines and disinfection supplies. After all, my mother was in isolation at home and she had to do a good job in disinfection. I took a photo of my mother's tongue and my mother's symptoms and passed it to a Chinese doctor who asked him to prescribe medicine to my mother. take.

After the TCM doctor was ready, I went to get the medicine. I thought it would cost more than 200 MYR, but unexpectedly it only cost 78 MYR, which is cheap.

The second and third morning self-tests were all the same, but I started to have some symptoms like headaches. I was prepared in my heart that it should be confirmed, but the virus volume was not high enough to detect it.

Sure enough, on the third night, my throat started to itch and cough. I decided to do another test. The result was less than 1 minute before a second line appeared. Although it was superficial, it also announced that I was diagnosed!

Fortunately, after my mother was diagnosed, our whole family also wore masks at home, and my father and sister were not infected by me.

On the morning of the fourth day, I did one more test, and this time the line was more obvious. In addition to reporting it to the government, I also passed the electronic certificate of the diagnosis and quarantine for 7 days to a colleague in the company's personnel department. She is already quite experienced in handling it. Employees have recently been diagnosed one by one.

That's how I started my 7-day quarantine period. I also took pictures to show the doctor of traditional Chinese medicine. I also took Chinese medicine at RM78. Of course, I also treated it with western medicine.

On the first day of diagnosis, the most severe symptoms were headache and back pain.

The next day, the headache and back pain disappeared, but the cough became severe and kept on coughing.

On the third day, the cough was relieved, and I only coughed occasionally, but the cold was severe, and my nose was runny, which made it difficult for me to sleep at night.

On the fourth day, most of the symptoms were gone, just a little cough.

On the fifth day, the cough suddenly became severe again. I changed the cough medicine to take it, and it was effective. On the sixth day, the cough was not serious, and I only coughed occasionally.

On the seventh day, the symptom that appeared was diarrhea. Like her mother, she also had diarrhea on the seventh day. It seemed that it was the same virus. On the seventh day, I also did the test, and finally returned to the same line.

On the eighth day, the test was done again, and several tests were done, including a line that was useful for inserting the nose and saliva, which was considered a recovery. I passed the test results and the electronic certificate of the release of the quarantine order to my colleagues in the HR department, and I went back to work on the ninth day.

In the past few days after I was diagnosed, I was most worried about my mother's condition, but my mother was very strong with only a slight cough and cold, and diarrhea on the seventh day, and she recovered quickly.

I am quite worried that my father will be infected, because my father belongs to a high-risk group. In addition to chronic diseases, he is also a cancer survivor. He has undergone several surgeries, and his body’s autoantibodies are not so strong. Fortunately, with the blessing of God and ancestors, my father is also safe. .

I feel that my mother and I both have mild symptoms, and neither my father nor my sister were infected. In addition to our own resistance, all four of us have been vaccinated with complete vaccines, that is, two doses of the vaccine and a booster.

The first two injections of our family were Kexing, my mother and I were also Kexing’s booster, while my father and sister’s booster chose to mix Pfizer.

Maybe the vaccine has played a role, and with the blessing of God, we are all safe. My mother and I don't have serious symptoms either. It's really just common cold symptoms. Of course, after recovering, we have to eat some lung-boosting food to maintain our body. We are worried about sequelae.

During this period, it was my sister who had to take care of two confirmed patients. In addition, we only had one toilet in our house. Every time my mother used it, she had to be fully equipped with epidemic prevention equipment to disinfect and wash the toilet all the time.

Although most of the confirmed patients in Malaysia are in the first asymptomatic and the second level of mild symptoms, my mother and I belong to the first and second level of patients, but there are about 10 people a day in the third to fifth level. It really depends on your own resistance. The recent death toll is also around 30 to 50, which is much lower than the last delta.

-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------

Let’s talk about the current situation of the epidemic in Malaysia. It is basically maintained at 10,000 to 15,000 people diagnosed every day. However, Malaysia has implemented a coexistence policy. First, Malaysia’s vaccination rate is quite high, which of course includes foreigners. Taking into account economic problems, etc., the government chose to reopen the country on April 1, officially entering the transitional stage of local epidemics, implementing coexistence with the virus, no longer blocking, and relaxing many epidemic prevention policies, but it is still necessary to wear clothes when going out. The mask policy, after more than two years of education, the people must learn to self-discipline and prevent the epidemic and take care of themselves.

Of course, in addition to epidemic prevention, the most important thing is to save the economy and tourism.

At present, in Malaysia, the confirmed patients can be isolated at home to recover, unless they are seriously ill, they are admitted to the hospital for treatment. This also relieves the medical pressure in Malaysia, and also allows other patients with diseases to get better treatment.

However, even when Malaysia was in the most severe lockdown of the epidemic, stores for basic living needs would still be open, including supermarkets, wet markets, daily necessities and medical stores, private clinics, and the media. Not closed, including the emergency department of the hospital. When a patient arrives in the emergency department, of course, medical staff will basically ask the patient if he has symptoms of the new crown. One more test, but if you are a companion, you will be asked to take a test first, and you can enter the hospital to accompany you when it is safe.

People with other diseases who need treatment, such as cancer patients who need chemotherapy or kidney dialysis, can generally go to the hospital as long as they have a doctor and medical certificate, and the hospital will of course accept you. At the end of 2020, my father also went to the hospital for a major operation.

In addition, during the closure of the city, people who want to go to the hospital to get medicines regularly will generally be released as long as they explain to the police who set up roadblocks, and even during that time, the service of mailing medicines to their homes is provided.

To be honest, Malaysia is quite good to the people in terms of medical treatment, and the treatment is in place and cheap. If the people go to the government hospital to see a doctor, they only need a registration fee of RM1. Of course, except for surgery, but it’s not expensive. Dad’s major surgery the year before last included staying in the ICU for about five or six days. When he was discharged from the hospital, my dad’s surgery, hospitalization, and 3 months of medicines added up. All are only RM256. Because my father is over 60 years old, the fee has been halved, so I need to pay more than RM100.

Moreover, each time the hospital will give medicines for one to three months, and the same is only RM1. More than ten years ago, my father suffered from cancer.

Of course, like government hospitals in many countries, patience is required.

In addition to free vaccinations in Malaysia, it is also free if you are treated for Covid-19 in a government hospital, and in Sarawak, where I live, when there was no such thing as home isolation in the early days of the epidemic, if a Sarawakian was required to be quarantined because of a close person Quarantine, or being quarantined in a hotel after returning from abroad, is free, and the cost is all paid by the government.

Although the daily number of confirmed cases in Malaysia has remained at around 10,000, almost everyone has returned to normal life. Everyone has accepted that the virus cannot disappear in a short period of time, and it is impossible to clear it, so we can only learn In the face of the virus, learn how to live a new normal life. For example, when you go to a party or have symptoms, basically everyone will do their own testing at home first. Learn what to do and what to do if you are diagnosed.

Are you saying that everyone doesn't care about the epidemic? Are you not afraid of viruses? In fact, I am still worried or afraid, but I just have to learn to face it. When there is a problem, learn to solve the problem by myself and take care of myself with self-discipline. And after so many people were diagnosed, everyone started not to blame the diagnosed and those who were afraid of recovery, because there were more or less confirmed relatives and friends around.

After so long, everyone began to learn not to complain and blame, because no one wants to be diagnosed, and they don't even know how to be infected, so they accept it with normal heart and solve the problem!

I really hope that the epidemics all over the world can end soon, so the lethality of the virus will become smaller and smaller!
