Summer Burns and Youth Scars - A Day Trip to Summer Sonic from Osaka
The decision to go to Summer Sonic was actually quite sudden.
Now, there is a popular saying on Jianzhong Internet: "Who stole my life."
As the pandemic eases and the rest of the world begins to resume live performances, Cochella reopened this year, as did many star tours.
Of course, it also includes Summer Sonic, which has been suspended for two years.
This music festival focuses on "commoners" - you can go back and forth in one day, and it is open in both Tokyo and Osaka. The lineup is similar.
Because the venue is far from my home, it is impossible to go two days in a row, so after comparing the lineup, I decided to buy tickets for the second day, which is August 21.
Set off
On the 21st, I got up early. Considering the price of the music festival, I made a sandwich for myself.
First go to Umeda, turn to the Osaka Loop Line, and then take the bus to Maizhou Sports Island - the venue of Summer Sonic Osaka.
As a result, when I got to the door of the music festival, I miscalculated - I saw that there was a water seller at the door, so I went straight to buy it.
300 yen a bottle, slaughtered me hard.
First check the tickets at the gate, then get the music festival wristband and enter the venue.
Before arriving at the performance area, you will pass by the surrounding market, where many performances that will be held in autumn and winter can be booked here.
When I saw these, I couldn't help but sighed hypocritically: I really came alive.
Morning - Ocean Stage
The Osaka field is a large area of Maizhou to open the music festival. The main stage, Ocean Stage, is open-air, facing the big sun.
I watched Beabadoobee and Rina Sawayama here.
Beabadoobee is one of my favorite female singers, very cute sister. The real person is very cute and small, and has a good figure. At the back, he jumped and carried a little panda on his back and came out to sing.
But maybe she really has a low voice. There is indeed a difference between the live singing and the recording studio, and I feel that sometimes I can't hear the human voice.
As for Rina, out of love for the debut album "Sawayama", I actually really want to see her live. Just this time, I had the opportunity to see it.
Her typhoon is really good, and she is invincible at the scene. Even if I don't like the new song released recently, it seems to be acceptable after listening to the scene.
Especially This Hell, which I hated before, when Rina sang "Fuck what they did to Britney" I almost screamed "To Lady Di and Whitney"...
Finally, LUCID+Free Woman ends, I honestly didn't expect to sing Free Woman.
Rina herself was really interesting and asked everyone how Slay would say in Japanese. Halfway through the song, he said that it was too hot, so he took off his makeup and put on his sunglasses.
Before singing the last song, I appealed to everyone to care about LGBTQ, saying that I am also Bi, and I am very disappointed in Japan, which does not recognize homosexuality.
I almost got sun-dried after the show because I was so high while watching Rina.
I quickly bought a bottle of water (300 yen, of course), found a cool place to sit, and waited for a long time.
Then I saw the vending machine in the back... The water in it was still the original price.
At that time, I deeply felt that I was being treated as a leek.
Afternoon - Sonic Stage
In the afternoon I hid in the indoor stage.
The artists I want to see are basically here, and the trouble of basking in the sun is also avoided. More importantly, the stage is in the gym, and there is room to sit.
I stopped by here to watch two bands/groups SPARKS and NUBARICH that I didn't know about before. I checked SPARKS, it is an old combination, the style is a bit aria and a bit classical. At the end, he took a selfie with the audience.
As for NUBARICH being a rookie band, I watched from a distance from a seat in the gym, and their last song "STEP IT" was very exciting. Combined with the live lights and the changing images of dancing on the big screen, even though I was sitting far away, I was still infected.
Next came Kacey Musgraves and St. Vincent that I wanted to see.
Kacey was really stable at the scene, saying that she was very happy on her birthday today, and she also threw toy roses/balloons/colored paper to interact with the audience.
I'm so glad she sang half of the golden hour song that Rainbow almost cried when I heard it. Although I'm a little disappointed not to have Space Cowboy.
The lights on Kacey's hair are shiny and really pretty.
As for St. Vincent, she deserves to be the finale of this stage, watching her live is like watching a stage play.
She has a nickname called "Hyin Maniac". Indeed, it is quite interesting to see her playing the bass on her waist in different positions after a game.
I've always had a wish to hear her sing "New York" live, and it came true just as I heard Kacey sing "Rainbow" live. Although the whole style is very special, it is different from what I imagined.
The finale is The Melting Of The Sun. At the end of the song, she repeated Girl the world's spinning round, spinning down and out of time several times, holding a few backing girls and singing together with the band. I was most impressed that night.
Late at night - check the wound
It was a wonderful day, and when I got home, I thought for a while that nothing would happen again today.
As a result, when I got home, I looked at the map to find the bus stop and navigated me into the water.
I told a few friends about this, and they didn't believe it. They said why did you fall into the water? Isn't there a warning sign?
The problem is, there really isn't.
At that time, there was nothing in front of me, and I just walked away. When I realized that something was wrong with my feet, I had already fallen.
Later, I dragged a scratched leg ashore and continued to look for the bus stop. It was very late by then, and I didn't have much hope of catching the bus.
Unexpectedly, when I looked up, I saw it was in front of me, opening the door.
I immediately rushed up, shouting in a voice that was not my own, etc.
As a result, I got into the car smoothly, and when I settled down, I started to check the situation on my body.
There was a fishy smell of water all over his body, and he was scratched with several scars on his legs. The skin at the scars was severely swollen, and there were two scrapes above his knees, one large and one small.
This is the last gift of the day to me.
It was almost 12 o'clock in the evening when I got home. As for how to deal with the wound, what happened to the back of my injured leg is another story.
write at the end
Overall the work of several female singers I listened to today really represents a big part of my 2018, 2020 and 2021 and this year.
As for Kali Lei, who represents 2019, I didn't go because of the fish and bear's paw. Her lineup that day was good, but nothing I particularly wanted to hear live.
Nowadays, European and American stars really pay attention to the Japanese market. When they come here, they are no longer just saying "hello" or "thank you" in Japanese. They will not only use more Japanese to interact with the audience, but also talk more and more. There is a pattern.
August 21, 2022 is really special to me. It was the first time I listened to the scene, the first time I planned to go far away, the first time I went home late at night, and the first time I encountered an accident on my way home...
Although I got sunburned on my arms and chest, and finally my leg, these things caught me off guard.
But in the big night, I didn't lose anything, break my head, and didn't choke on water. It was a blessing in itself.
At least now, when I look back on the day with more happy memories than being hurt/slaughtered/falling into the water, I feel good in and of itself.
Maybe it's also because you have such capital when you are young, and all you think about is how to be happy, so even if you get hurt, you won't care.
