"Sick": This is a sick world
"Sickness" is a short story written by Ji Qing.
If you have read Ji Qing's previous works, you will know that he is good at writing horror novels. His previous works "Please Lock the Door" and "Don't Enter the Underground" were so scary that after reading them, you will feel chilled.
Later, "Super Killer Gene" and "Shura Fire" returned to the original mystery novels.
In "Sick", we return to the thrilling world again.
There are four short stories in the book, four worlds full of pathologies.
The first chapter "Strange Skin" made my scalp tingle. It was really tingling. I remember that I also got goosebumps when watching "Don't Enter the Underground". The horror world written by Qing Qing is not limited. "Strange Skin" describes a man with extreme mysophobia and "social anxiety". His main job every day is to treat his skin. As a result, after a hot spring treatment, he was stimulated by the words of a strange old man, which led to painful evil. itch. In order to cure the nasty itch, he actually chose to Lingchi himself...
The second piece "Cannibal" tells the story of a young man who was injured and paralyzed in an explosion. His twin brother died in the accident. The boy's father died young, and his mother had always favored his brother, so he did not feel sad about his brother's death. After he became paralyzed, his mother, under the doctor's instructions, cooked him a bowl of broth every day. But gradually, ordinary broth could no longer bring him satisfaction. What kind of meat was needed to make him recover?
The protagonists of the third chapter "The Beloved Game" are a top student and a bad student. They met to play a game of "let dad worry". They were no longer controlled by their father, but instead controlled their father by doing things that made his father worry. What the two twelve-year-olds will do will worry their father. What kind of shocking ending will this game proposed by a top student turn into?
The fourth chapter "The Substitute and the Follower" tells the story of a woman who longs for fame, and how she goes from imitating a female star to becoming her substitute. Every star is just a role set by the manager. If he disobeys, he can be replaced at any time, so the manager trains a substitute to accept this set role. Becoming famous, but losing yourself, you are acting every minute, and you have to worry about being replaced every minute. How much does fame cost?
Although "Strange Skin" is not very innovative, it is the most enjoyable one I have ever read. "Cannibal" deliberately blurs the master-slave relationship and creates an unexpected ending. However, there are too many unreasonable things and the character's mentality is too inexplicable to me, so I can't agree with it. The thrilling thing about "Beloved Game" is that children's thinking is becoming more and more violent and perverse, and there is no logic at all. Life is just a game to them. "Stand-in and Follower" is so fun that you want to follow it until the end.
All the characters in the book are sick. Although I cannot imagine that such sick people exist in reality (it shows that I am really a normal person), we still cannot deny that the world is full of all kinds of inexplicable people (open Just read the newspaper and you will know).
Is it pathological to continue to care about the actions of people you hate? If it were me, I wouldn't care about someone I don't like, but I would still peek into the other person's lifestyle every day, and then feel deeply unfair for some of the other person's actions. What kind of mentality is this?
