High court's quasi-bail conditions include a ban on remarks that endanger national security

Mr Ho was represented on Monday by SC Chan Ching Lung, and the prosecution was represented by Acting Assistant Prosecutor Cheung Cheuk Chin and Senior Prosecutor Ng Kayue.

He Junren was granted bail of 700,000 yuan, and Ho's daughter and sister-in-law each 200,000 yuan (400,000 yuan in total) as personnel guarantees. During the period, he was required to abide by the curfew and report to the police station three times a week.

The Supreme Court's National Security Law-appointed judge Chen Zhongheng also set other bail conditions, including not directly or indirectly making, distributing or reprinting any speech that may be regarded as a violation of the National Security Law or a crime that endangers national security under Hong Kong law in any way, as well as making Acts of crimes against national security, or liaison with foreign officials, parliamentarians, members of parliament at any level, or related persons.

He refused bail in another case at the end of last month after serving his sentence

Ho Junren was sentenced to 18 months in prison from May 2021 for a number of unauthorised assembly cases, including the 10.20 Kowloon parade and the June 4 rally in 2020, which will expire on July 22 this year. Ho, who first applied for bail on July 5, was rejected by the National Security Law-appointed judge Luo Quan at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts on July 20.

Law also refused to relax the restrictions on media reporting under Section 9P of the Criminal Procedure Ordinance, and the media failed to report the content of the application.

Stake and 3 officers charged with inciting subversion

The four defendants in this case are: Hong Kong Citizens Supporting Patriotic Democratic Movement Association (Stake), Li Zhuoren (64 years old), Ho Junren (69 years old) and Zou Xingtong (36 years old).

The 4 persons were also charged with inciting others in Hong Kong to organize, plan, carry out or participate in the implementation of acts aimed at subverting state power by illegal means from July 1, 2020 to September 8, 2021, that is, to overthrow and undermine the People's Republic of China The fundamental system of the People's Republic of China established by the Constitution, or the overthrow of the central authority of the People's Republic of China.

Zou Xingtong proposed a preliminary interrogation, which will be held on September 2. Zou will be represented by a lawyer. He will not call the prosecution and the defense, but intends to testify on his own.
