Gitcoin's new round of Gitcoin Grants 19 (GG19 for short) has officially opened on November 15th, and this donation lasts for two weeks (ends on November 29th).

Gitcoin Grants is a regular event once every quarter. The mechanism of this time is slightly different from the last GG18. In addition to the original main donation categories being changed to "Program Rounds" and "Community Rounds", an additional " Independent rounds running on Grants Stack". As many as 716 projects participated in the donation this time.

Similarly, in order to reduce the time that partners spend looking at projects, this article will briefly introduce this GG18, as well as the goals of each category, and what projects are recommended and worthy of donation.

In particular, the goal of Gitcoin Grants is to allow projects and teams that are willing to contribute to the blockchain and Web3 industries to obtain funds that can support their continued operations. After all, many of them provide free services in the form of public funds. It should be very reasonable to get some donations appropriately.

Therefore, if you want to make money through speculation, or simply want to criticize Gitcoin, then this article is really not suitable for you.

GG19 Introduction

Program Rounds:

Gitcoin's project rounds are directly managed and overseen by the Grants Program team (formerly PGF). These rounds are carefully curated and optimized to align with Gitcoin’s mission and values, emphasizing transparency, decentralization, and community engagement.

Community Rounds:

It is the round where project managers outside of Gitcoin are responsible for decision-making, coordination, and implementation. They are selected by our team and must meet certain criteria.

There are no recommended donation items in the following five categories, so we will not introduce them specifically:

1inch LatAm : Mainly to stimulate projects based in Latin America whose mission and values are consistent with 1inch.
META POOL : Focus on building DApps on the NEAR 2.0 blockchain operating system. Engage builders around the world to build decentralized applications, powered by Proximity Labs and Meta Pool DAO.
OpenCivics Genesis Round : is the first round of grants from the OpenCivics consortium and the first secondary funding program to focus on civic and advocacy projects.

DeSpaceQF 1st Round : Designed to provide initial funding, public awareness and support to startups and research projects within the decentralized space exploration ecosystem.
Buidl Guidl : Buidlguidl is hosting a QF round to fund its ecosystem builders.
Public Goods Africa : is the first pilot of the Africa Impact Project’s Secondary Funding (QF) round. This is in line with Public Good Africa’s vision to create a thriving ecosystem that gives Africa’s builders and impact makers access to capital.
