Life Fragments|Mid-Autumn Festival Reunion

The epidemic has changed many of our normal lives, but it has also given us more time to spend with our families, especially during festivals.

When the Mid-Autumn Festival is full of moon again, this is the second year to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in the middle of the epidemic. Of course, the atmosphere of the festival cannot be compared with that before the epidemic, but when I came home from get off work a few days ago, I saw a neighbor's child wearing a mask and playing with his mother outside the house carrying lanterns, and the atmosphere was immediately felt.

The two most important things in Malaysia A's Mid-Autumn Festival are moon cakes and lanterns.

It was almost 20 years ago that I took a lantern and walked along the neighborhood with my neighbor's children. At that time, I was still living in an old house and a wooden house area.

At that time, there were no street lights in the wooden house area. At night, the road outside the house was almost dark, and there was a small forest next to it, so it was very suitable for carrying lanterns. The sparkling candles also fully showed the beauty of the lanterns. Well, if it were now, parents would 100% prevent their children from doing this.

The lanterns I mentioned when I was a child were all traditional brightly colored paper lanterns, which came in various shapes and sizes, and consisted of bamboo or iron frames. There must have been candles inside, which were easily extinguished when the wind was blowing, or when the wind blew, the fire of the candles would burn. It is possible to burn the entire lantern at once. Often in one night, five or six lanterns were burnt down.

In addition to walking around the community with lanterns, everyone will also hang lanterns in the corridors of the house, or on the flowers and trees that are not high, which is very spectacular and beautiful. Later, lanterns began to appear with electronic and LED, but I have not mentioned lanterns anymore.

There are no major events in our family to celebrate festivals. For example, we haven't set off firecrackers for a long time during Chinese New Year. Because of health and to avoid waste, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, in addition to buying enough moon cakes to worship ancestors, family members do not buy more.

For me and my family, the most important thing about the festival is that the family can get together in a safe and healthy way to have a reunion dinner, especially during this epidemic. Nothing is more important than a peaceful reunion.

The epidemic has changed many of our normal lives, but it has also given us more time to spend with our families, especially during festivals, we have more time to spend with our families, unlike before the epidemic, when we gave more time to our friends over the family.

Mid-Autumn Festival, for me, it is very meaningful for my family to eat together.
