[Witch's Journey] Is there really Texas Hold'em in Texas? Tips for a week in Texas (Part 2)

Have you seen the Longhorn Cow? If you haven't seen it, I'll show it to you~

As mentioned last time, we arrived in the city of Austin and played for a day.

The next day, we went to the cafe in the community for breakfast.

For those who are unfamiliar with the United States, they may not know that there are many, many, many, many, many, many, many, really, super delicious cafes in the United States . It should be said that Americans are a bit like the Chinese in their obsession with food. Special hamburger restaurants alone are not enough. It's all-inclusive, and it really has its own merits! !

It is cheaper to eat out than to cook at home. No wonder Americans are relatively strong and even obese!

So America is heaven for me, a food hunter!

Every city or even a small town has several high-rated cafes. In Austin alone, I have found 4-5 cafes with a 4.7 or higher. My husband and I, after some struggles, chose this Mañana (this is Spanish, which means tomorrow, morning).

Location: Mañana Café (click to have a google map)

Nice environment

Originally we went for their morning limited taco, but unfortunately they only have a vegan roll, sir ordered that, I ordered a small cake and also ordered their cappuccino.

small cake

The small cakes are quite delicious. The taste is a bit unexpected. The coffee is delicious. I recommend coffee .

After breakfast, we took a 20-minute walk to a nearby check-in point. In fact, it would take about 5 minutes to drive from the restaurant.

This is a famous local graffiti, because the name of the city is written! The whole graffiti is designed like a name card, it's very beautiful!

also on the ground

Then, we went to play mini golf before it was too early. I have played it in different places before, and I was watching a set of animations about golf games recently, which was really interesting! ! xD

Where: Peter Pan Mini Golf

This miniature golf course was discovered while driving back to the hotel, only to find out that it is a historic family run miniature course. Do you know what Mini Golf is?

It is a very small golf course (this is nonsense xD), the balls and bats used are also small, and children can also use it. Usually, a field will have several difficulty options, and there are many small levels. This time, we chose normal difficulty, with a total of 21 levels.

At this moment, I plan to liberate the dark power hidden in my left hand and start a fierce battle of life and death with Mr. ! Finally...

Weird peter pan xD
The track under the trousers xD

Of course I lost (Remnant...TT)

After playing this, we set off to visit the Capitol Building in Texas (English Capitol, State Capitol / Building, each state has one, Texas is in Austin), which is free admission and free parking.

Location: Texas Capitol

The building was constructed around 1882 and is the sixth tallest capitol building in the United States. It is said that it was built by slaves at that time, and it is a bit strange to view it through such a form in modern times.

In the middle of the building is the dome design, and you can find "Texas" in any detail, such as the word Texas on the glass, even I found the word Texas on the small hinge of the door, which is a bit like looking for an Easter egg.

Smallpox also has Texas
Harry punch
ancient elevator
There's a fart in the ground
They're in a meeting, visitors can listen in
Homework books for people to take casually, elementary school level

Near the Capitol is the local University of Texas, and since my husband was thinking about the University of Texas gym, we walked around the door before heading out for lunch. (Mr. likes American football very much. In addition to the NFL, he also has a little research on the college American football championship. Note that it is not NFT XD haha, it is the National Football League American Football League )

This university is Lonhorn icon

Puppy driving xD The driver put him on his lap to drive together xD

For lunch, we went to eat very delicious Japanese ramen, and the google score was as high as 4.8.

It was getting hotter in the afternoon, so we headed to the park to cool off and get a close-up view of the Colorado River.

Seeing people rafting and girls doing water yoga on a floating board, I felt very freehand and had a sense of life, which made me unexpectedly feel that this city is a good place to live.

Where: Butler Shores at Town Lake

The river here is icy cold, giving me a brief coolness to survive in this western weather.

play with water xD

It was too hot until about 3:00 pm, so we went to the cinema to watch the movie Dr. Strange 2 and escape the sun oven. There were only 6 people in our show, which seemed to be reserved. After a quick meal in the evening, we headed back to the hotel and continued our journey to another place the next day.

Day5-6

San Antonio

This city is very small, but full of Mexican atmosphere, this is because the city used to be self-governing, and later belonged to Mexico; there are many historical buildings and the footprints of missionaries in the city.

San Antonio is a strange place, kind of like the situation in Hong Kong. When the place was still full of Indians (Native Americans), the Spanish Church found this uncontrolled place and introduced religion, technology, etc. The priest even named it after himself. The place later developed into an important trading place, serving as a bridge between Mexico and the western United States.

Mission remnants are scattered throughout the city, and there are ancient sanctuaries in the remnants.

We went to three missionary sites—

Location: Mission San Juan

Location: Mission San Jose

very western feel

Location: Mission Concepción

What it looks like when it was established in 1755

(There are free open-air parking lots in the above places.)

After going to the above places, it was already dusk, so we went to a local restaurant for dinner. The food was a bit greasy and not particularly tasty, so we didn't recommend it.

A little bit different from what I imagined fish and chips

The next day, we set off from the hotel and walked along the canal to the city center, and the scenery along the way made us feel refreshed. (By the way, when I first got up, I was in a bad mood and didn’t want to go long distances, but looking at the scenery by the river, I was cured without realizing it XD )

Discover this Carp King Doodle
The hotel has a Texas-shaped waffle for breakfast!
beautiful view

There are also guided boat tours, but there is a fee. We sat by the river and listened to the tour guide's commentary and felt that we had earned it.

(Tour guides are saying that the building is owned by a former NBA star, this building was a public library when I was a kid, that building has the tallest American flagpole in the country XD, etc.)

funny boat

There is a small community of restaurants in the Canal District of the city center. The restaurants are lined along the canal, like a small village.

Location: La Villata

Harry wants to be Cowboy XD
Origin of this city: San Antonio

Come to the city center, where there are the most important missionary relics, because this place used to be the beginning of the War of Independence, and then the locals defeated the Mexicans and succeeded in independence.

monument

When I watched the introduction of the video in the venue, I said that this place was the cradle of the Texas independence movement. There used to be only a few hundred people in the area, but they successfully defended the city against the huge Mexican enemy. (Can't help but think of Hong Kong...)

And very later, Texas joined the United States as one of the states in the United States.

There is a very old church in this ruin, but the things inside are gone and turned into a museum. You can’t take pictures inside, and you need to make an online appointment to enter, but in fact, you have finished reading it in 3 minutes, and it is introducing the building structure and soil structure of the church.

historic church

For lunch, we chose a German restaurant and it felt like we were back in Germany, haha.

But the food is a bit like American German food, but the beer tastes authentic.

Texas Hold'em XD

After we were full, we continued along the canal to the other side to the local Catholic cathedral.

Then we ended our sightseeing in the city, went back to the hotel to rest and swim to cool off from the heat, and prepared to leave for the next city, which is also the last place in the itinerary.

hotel swimming pool

For dinner, we ate at a restaurant near the hotel. Later, we learned that this restaurant is very famous in the local area, and it is really super delicious. The price is good, and it is highly recommended. We had dinner early so we didn't have to wait for a table, and there was a long line of people waiting outside the door when we finished eating.

Location: Texas Road House (seems to have branches in other areas as well)

Atmosphere is good
Unlimited free addition of bread, freshly baked super delicious, can not stop eating, the waiter will automatically help us add crazy XD
The waiter gave us a free sample
Steak is good

(A week after we left the city, there was a school shooting in this nearby city, alas, life is impermanent)

Day7

Front worth

Since the city is closer to our airport than Dallas, we chose to spend the last time here.

First, we went to a local near suburban town that was literally the cowboy town of my dreams! ! I am super excited! ! !

It's like seeing Clint Eastwood (he's 92!) here ready to draw a gun! XD

west wind town
bulls
Super big, you can ride and take pictures for a fee

It happened to be a cowboy event going on in this town, and we saw a huge herd of Longhorn cattle (Longhorn in English) walking into the town, which was spectacular.

They are all super big! It makes me a little scared, and I wonder how the cowboys manage this group of Longhorns?

old railway station

The station in town has been converted into a shopping area and we just happened to be in time for a cowboy show? !

In this place they actually fired empty guns, super loud and deaf. We watched it for a while and then left because the husband said his ears were a little sore.

Diss each other first, then shoot
The cowboy in the cowboy duel, I feel a little old and should be called Uncle Niu? xD
strange statue
a bit fu of Stranger things

There is a cowboy style everywhere in the town, which makes me very happy, I can stay here for 2-3 hours.

After leaving the western town, we went to the downtown area, where there is an interesting artificial waterfall, but it feels a bit overrated, in fact, it is not that special, but it looks good in comparison.

artificial waterfall

In addition, there is a relatively famous Japanese-style garden here, but you need to pay extra to enter.

More recommended is that there is a very good Rooftop bar , you can enjoy the whole small city, used as the end of our journey, it is perfect.

Location: branch & bird

Since the city was decided at a random, I didn't check in detail what places to play. Later, I found that there is a natural waterfall in this place. I would like to visit it if I have the opportunity in the future.

If you are interested in going to Texas in the future, you can also refer to the above itineraries and restaurants~

Texas has more green nature and parks than imagined, and it is undoubtedly a little unexpected compared to general modern cities!I thought I would see cowboys everywhere, but I only saw them on the last day, and I was very lucky to see the cowboy showdown I wanted to see! !

In the first independence war of Texas, the flag (the first flag) used to write "come and take it" and the cannon Icon, super strong. No wonder the words "don't mess with Texas" can be seen everywhere in local souvenirs.

I will write an American fast food recommendation in the future. First, I hope you can refer to it when you travel to the United States in the future. Second, I can organize my own private collection list by the way.

Finish.

Whispering Wu Lunzi:

I went to eat French seafood for my birthday last week, so happy!

Today I found that I can use shallow pan to cook rice, which is quite easy to use. I have been using a tall cooker before XD

Oops, because the rice cooker is broken...

Did anyone get a postcard? Only one person has received
