A Little Change Triggered by The Selfish Gene

Son of Light Chosen

The book I've been reading recently is called "The Selfish Gene". It's a book that has been particularly popular in the past two years, including this year. It's almost always on the recommendation column of my Amazon homepage. I didn't read a thick book, but I read a book review saying that someone got depression after reading it, so I downloaded it and read it.

The content of the previous chapters 1-2-3 does involve some things that I, a liberal arts student with a relatively small knowledge reserve, do not understand very well, and I am not so willing to spend my brain to think about it carefully (most of the time I get off work in the morning + evening). Use a kindle on the bus to watch), so it is a very fast-moving form.

But when I get to the back, when I talk about family planning, intergenerational war, gender war, etc., I immediately explain some of the previous doubts (provided that the content of the book is factual and correct).

Our so-called pursuit of advantages and avoidance of disadvantages, selfishness, self-interest, laziness, greed, and provocation... etc. Good or bad "human nature" may have long been written in the genes, or even more accurately, use "genetics" This word to describe everything.

Suddenly, I went to Google to find out what scope is "human nature", the behavior that people will produce under the inertia of genes. Do one "anti-human" thing every day and see what happens differently.

For example:

When taking a photo with a friend, send the other party's P's better-looking picture to the other party or to a circle of friends.

Regular morning coverage at the gym. (I have done this today, climbed a 1h-hour slope in the morning, and did abdominal training with 2-3 movements)

Two biscuits, the delicious one is for each other.

In short, you must be aware of your first reaction to the object, and then overturn this first reaction and choose another reaction. In fact, it is more difficult to perceive your first reaction, and then stop, think about another behavior, and execute it before the body, mouth, and brain make an action.

According to the results from google, there are probably the following behaviors that do not conform to "human nature".

1. Self-discipline (although I don’t quite understand what self-discipline means)

2. Not self-centered

3. I hope the other party is doing well

4. "Food color, sex also", the opposite of this sentence.

5. Willing to be slower, slower.

6. Delayed gratification.

7. Write a journal (work journal, life journal, study journal…)

...

There are many more, and I decided to do one little thing against humanity every day.
