The night Sulla struck

Typhoon Sulla was approaching. Although I knew it was very strong and very close, I always took chances and hoped that everything would be fine when I woke up, so I only took simple wind protection measures.

When I slept with my daughter in her room, I heard that the sound of wind and rain was not particularly strong, so I didn't feel too worried at the time, so I finished reading a short story before leaving her bedroom. It was already past twelve o'clock, and I planned to go to bed.

Unexpectedly, as soon as I opened the door, I immediately heard the sound of violent wind and rain. I went to the window sill and found that the window sill was completely wet. The rain kept running in through the gaps near the window. I immediately found a pile of towels to absorb the water, but the towels soon became wet. It was soaked, so I hurriedly moved the things away from the window. When I wanted to get a mop, I found that the laundry room was also soaked, so I immediately moved the clothes away and brought more towels to deal with the constant influx of rainwater.

There were not enough towels, so I used newspapers to soak up water. I took care of the living room and laundry room in this way, and walked into the bedroom facing the same direction. Of course, it also collapsed. Rain kept running in through the cracks in the window, and there was also a pool of water on the ground. , even the mattress and pillows were wet all over, so I brought a towel mop in to absorb the water. After soaking up the water, I twisted the towel dry and continued to absorb water. Then I put a newspaper on the window sill to absorb the water.

It wasn't until after a while, when the wind weakened a little and the rain stopped pouring in, that I dragged my tired body to my daughter's room to sleep (because the bed on my side was wet).

The windows in my house are 20 years old, so there is nothing I can do about water seepage during strong winds. Fortunately, such serious water seepage accidents do not occur when it is windy or rainy. The last time water seepage was discovered during strong winds was Typhoon Mangkhut in 2018. , I hope there will be no such strong typhoon in the future.

But next time I will know to prepare plenty of towels to put by the window to soak up the water.

When I woke up that day, there was no wind or rain. The typhoon was far away. If there was no water seepage, it would be fine as soon as I woke up. But now I have to clean up the soaked towels and newspapers on the windowsill and move the moved things away. Return to the original position, wash the towel... After doing this for half a day, I can finally rest.

The sky outside is clear now, but the market is definitely in chaos. I only deal with the debris at home and half of the morning, so I am especially grateful to the staff who clean up the streets after the typhoon, and the civil defense personnel who maintain order before, after, and during the typhoon.

A strong typhoon has passed safely, and now there are two typhoons that have formed. No matter where the typhoon blows, I wish everyone safety.
