Experience Weekly of Montenegro Seaside Co-living Community

(edited)
I live in the two-month offline co-living community initiated by vitalik, the creator of Ethereum, mainly focusing on its organizational structure, and any discussion about web3 social app, decentralized communication, network state.

opening ceremony

Alddo, from the Ethereum Community Fund who met him at the icebreaker event at the kick-off ceremony, is face-length, dark-haired, thin, with bright eyes when he describes his first "build". "When I was 13 years old, I created a webpage about game guides. I used Yahoo to search for various trendy technologies to carve the webpage, but I didn't expect it to be included in the Archive of Internet."

He is working with QJ on a project similar to "A handbook about how to build a successful web3 project".

Another ice-breaking activity is to let everyone divide into four groups independently. Everyone works together to choose the group name, the group slogan, draw the group logo, and wear the group's color T-shirt. Play Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot in groups (one person from each group). Our group is called Underdogs, "cause underdogs never lose", and Alddo also used ChatGPT 4 to generate the slogan of our group: "Underdogs, don't give in. We will fight till we win!" Our co-created logo Underdogs and Laser eyes!
Everyone in the whole collaborative team is friendly and helps each other.

Rich hub activities and spontaneous workshops

From regular hiking, running, wake-surfing, rock climbing, cold plunge, board games, martial arts to interesting hotpot & karaoke, anti-longevity, memes, rave gang, startup help ft people who wanna help startup , ecstatic dance... As a bread lover, I opened a bread market for everyone to exchange handmade bread with each other. Circling activities that allow people to have a deeper connection, as well as a social dance to feel each other in another language~

The workshop organized by the community has two themes of Longevity and Synbio. Many scientists in the industry are invited to talk about the latest scientific research progress, and there are also roadshows for start-up companies, including bio-based concrete, engineering human cells for longevity, and using microbes for carbon-negative manufacturing.

Molecule PM, key driver of the DeSci narrative, speaks
Adam is debunking some myths about longevity

Spontaneous workshops include AI dinner ( yes, AI is indispensable for every conversation about the future ), network state brainstorm session, biology study group. Let’s come from working on blockchain projects, doing co-living communities and doing biology, etc. People from the background of academia (also in Desci movement) sit down and chat together. What is the real need, can it be solved by AI on the left and crypto on the right?

Community Organizing Tools

  • Event notification: At first, all event information needs to be viewed on the webpage, and daily notifications can be viewed in the notification channel of discord. Since David Hoffman proposed to move the discussion of hub activities from discord to TG topics, all kinds of hubs have sprung up, and the main notifications of the community have been moved to the TG channel. Discord is relatively suitable for long-term discussions.
  • Identity verification of zero-knowledge proof: The corresponding passport is generated by the mailbox, and the content of the webpage that only the residents of the conference can see is verified during login. Developed by 0xPARC team.
  • Ordinary event participation: You need to wear a community strap to participate.
  • Some activities in the active community: Every Monday, the farmer market, where you can buy organic agricultural products from local farmers, including cheese, ham, juice, liqueur, etc. Pod dinner every Wednesday is to randomly group everyone into groups, let the members of the group communicate and negotiate, and organize dinner activities by themselves. I was in the same group as vitalik for this week's Pod dinner, and he put his phone aside to participate in our chat, and he didn't interrupt the conversation to answer the phone when it rang.

People

A lot of people are from the United States . In the first week, I haven’t seen many people from Latin America and Africa, and even very few people from Europe. In addition to some VCs and entrepreneurs, there are many people who are doing big and small things in the Ethereum ecosystem. U is a core contributing member of Gitcoin and a great board game guide (yes, 7 wonders is the best game ever!) N passed by here on the way of dropping out of school and traveling to poor countries in the world, gathering programmers and entrepreneurs Power, in implementing a crowdfunded bounty platform. L is doing things in Mexico to help more women into web3. There is also the Scroll, Soulwallet team with a whole family of young and old.
